Milwaukee Bucks 2014 - 2015 (part 1)

homer
Sure they would, in that scenario. First, by matching the Bucks offer for Bledsoe they would be adding a lot of salary. Then by taking Mayo or Irsan, they would be adding that salary also, no? Bucks wouyld be the ones shedding salary, taking on Ennis minimal salary and losing Mayo/Irsan salary.

I meant they wouldn't be taking on any more. As in, there's no way they'd do that trade.

Ok, got it. Pretty much what I figured. As with most proposed trades, you have to ask yourself if we don't want player x, why would anyone else? There are teams out there that really like Irsan though, not sure the Suns are one of them. Maybe Middleton? Dirt cheap guy that's on the rise, he may have some value.

Seems like nothing is going to happen until LeBron signs, and the dminos fall frm there. This is another test for the Bucks though, they should put the offer on the table for Bledsoe yesterday. Be a player, put the pressure on instead of reacting all the time.

The Bucks are going to have to give up something else if they want to unload Mayo on anyone. Probably at least a protected 1st round pick. Given that the Suns have 3 of them next year and 2 the following year, AND that they would be letting Bledsoe go due to a logjam in the backcourt, I see no reason they'd want Mayo back even with a lottery protected 1st.

Giving up a protected 1st round pick is not the way to unload Mayo. He is still only what 25 maybe 26. He had a miserable season with injuries and getting out of shape but I think there are a lot of people out there who still believe he can turn the corner. Like Bucks, other teams saw same thing when he was with Mavs. It is not like he has forgotten how to play basketball. This guy was suppose to be the next greatest thing and still has potential to score 18 or 20+ points a game in the right situation. (If he gets himself physically back to where he needs to be.)

I tell you what....Bledsoe makes Bucks a dangerous team! Not this year. 2014-2015 will be a season of growing pains, building chemistry but with them so young, talented, and growing together, this could be exciting! Parker and Giannis are the faces of the franchise. Knight I think is a great 22 year old combo guard who will have much more success at #2 where he can do what he does best which is work off the ball. Bledsoe has been overshadowed by Wall in college, Paul with Clippers and then he finally got his chance.... was starting to shine and then was lost with injury after 43 games. He has everything you could want in a PG and think Kidd could make him even better. Sanders and Henson are solid up front.

I think it is critical for Bucks to finally decide what they want with Knight. Is he the PG of future or is he going to be off the ball? If he is their PG then I'd like to see if they could snag Austin Rivers from NO who is on market.

I'm all for offering Bledsoe the max contract, but it's very likely the Suns will match it.

With Lebron only choosing between the Cavs and Heat, and Bosh heading to either the Heat or Rockets, looks like the Suns are struck out in the superstar dept and will have to settle for matching any offer for Bledsoe.

Getting Bledsoe would be great, if the new owners do manage to pull it off without trading our young core, I'd be impressed.

They may not even keep Wiggins at this point.

The rumor I've seen is that they have had a deal in place for Kevin Love, but Love was only interested if James signed. Now that he has, they may very well make that trade. The Wolves have apparently insisted on Wiggins being part of that deal. Doesn't make it true, but that's the rumor I've seen.

They just signed Irving to a max deal, now LeBron. Not sure how they could afford Love but maybe they could figure something out. Cavs will likely sign one or two of LeBron's groupies now too - Mike Miller or Ray Allen.

So to recap for Cleveland. James leaves for four years. Cavs get THREE number one overall picks and another pick in the top 5. James then returns as arguably a better player than when he left. Must be rough huh? They now have FOUR #1 overall picks on their roster, plus 2 other top 5 selections.

rumor is that LIn will have a new home by Sunday, wonder if the bucks are in play. I would hope they pass since none of the bucks bad contracts would be going back to Houston. Not sure why either the bucks or sixers would want to do that, except for simply getting another 1st round pick in return is worth it.

Thankfully Bennett was more qualified to be #1 pick in 2nd round than #1 overall..... Waiters will prob be gone before season, he has been on trade block since last year and with Allen prob coming, the dysfunctional relationship with Kyrie, and all the other stuff, just dont see him staying.

Yeah, this is how you leverage your salary cap space as a team that isn't a free agent destination. Instead of signing overpaid middle-tier players like Mayo, Zaza and Delfino, you take on a bad contract, and get assets as well as a result.

So where does Wade go? He is obviously not a 1a player in the NBA any more and I doubt he is even a #2 on most teams. He would have to sign with a team that already has a superstar on the team but where would that be?

Probably to Miami.

I can't believe Bosh went back to Miami. I would've taken that Houston offer and ran.

And the Suns just did a sign and trade for Thomas from the Kings for over 7 million per year. Yet another undersized PG who scored 20 points per game last year.

That's 5 PG's on their roster right now and they keep adding them. I would think the best chance to land Bledsoe right now is to offer the max and work out a deal with the Suns where an athletic big goes back to them. Perhaps even Henson. I think it'd be worth it. Bledsoe for Henson+1 of the Suns 5 1st round picks the next 2 years(add Udoh if they want another athletic big or Ersan if they want him).

Very interesting stuff showing up on twitter involving Jason Kidd, his model/actress wife Porshla and one half of the twin daughters of Marc Lasry. They are hanging out together and Porshla Kidd states that she is trying to get Lasry's daughter to move in with them....

Not sure what to make of it but it is interesting to say the least

What I learned from summer league:

- Giannis was more aggressive. He wanted the ball, that is a great sign. Jumper continues to improve. I was starting to think the hype was greater than his ability, but I remind myself he's still so young.

- OBryant can give you some solid minutes. Very comforable in the post, and he has a nice little 12 foot jumper too.

- Wolters looks about the same, need to see more.

- Parker. Needs to work on his jumper, that's the biggest thing I noticed. I think it's hard to really see what he will be both this year and long term playing with all that crap around him. At this point in his career asking him to be the man on nearly every possession is a lot to ask. I think he will look better with the court spread with actual NBA players surrounding him.

Here is a look at their highlights from summer ball

1) to second loved to see Giannis trying to take over and being so aggressive. He like Parker would only be Sophs in college this next season, sky is the limit for him and you can see a lot of KD developing coming out in his game.

2) Parker looked like he was pressing waaaay to much. He just needs to relax and let things come to him more.

3) It will take time, both are only 19 but with both reach potential we could have a KD/Anthony type combo!

The more I see of Giannis, the less I see of Durant, other than having the same body type.

His court vision and ability to run the break remind me a bit of young LeBron or Magic in that sense. He covers so much ground and is so quick.

If Kidd lets them get out and run more this year, this team could be a LOT of fun to watch, even if they lose a lot of games.

Wolters is the kind of guy who will thrive with better players and a more structured offense. You can see how much better he looks when he isn't surrounded by guys just trying to "get theirs" on the court.

It has been all quiet on the FA front; at this point the picking are pretty slim for anything other than depth. I doubt they think Wolters is a long term answer at PG behind Knight.

Apparently the Bucks are trying to trade Ersan but have found no takers. Hammond probably needs to include someone halfway decent like Middleton if he wants to get rid of that contract.

Summer League means next to nothing but Giannis' play has been encouraging. It will be entirely different when Parker & Giannis are playing against a full team of NBA caliber players though. Parker probably won't have to press so much but you still really want an aggressive Giannis.

Read today Kidd saying he wants Giannis to play the point. Granted it's summer league, but the little bit I saw of him doing it today I am pretty intrigued. He seems like a natural with the ball in his hands...and thats a verrrrrry good thing for us Bucks fans.

Kidd specifically referenced a PG-Giannis SG-Knight SF-Parker PF-Ilyasova C-Sanders combination. Defensively it scares me a bit with Parker/Illy but let Knight take the PG on defense and the rest looks pretty good.

Then again, maybe its Giannis laying waste to Dante Exum in the halfcourt and then posterizing the 7-3 Rudy Gobert that has me seeing stars :tongue

a 6'11 PG is going to get stripped a LOT by smaller points. He's got great ball handling skills but he's awfully long, and a lot of guys are going to be able to get under and inside him and strip the ball.

I'm ok with this, if they truly think it leads to a more dynamic offense, it's just something to be aware of.

Yea, I don't see him being a PG in the 1950s sense of the word. If he's on the court with Knight or Wolters, PG will be more of a shared role. I see Giannis matched up against the opponent's 2, and Knight/ Wolters/Bayless guaring the point.

On offense it doesn't make as much difference. I wouldn't expect the other team to have their PG on Giannis. But even at that, yea, I see him having more turnovers at guard, if you call it PG or not. That's ok though, I want to see the ball is his hands more.
