2014-06-20 Brewers (Estrada) at Rockies (Bergman), 7:40 PM CDT [Brewers win classic Coors slugfest, 13-10]

Insurance!

On a side note, I would hate to be a Reds fan who went to the game tonight, wow.

Anybody remember this game?

Yes! That was an amazing game after the one where Moeller had the cycle and Hall hit a walkoff homer after Moeller reached on an error with two outs in the 9th (he already had the cycle in the bag at that point.) Crazy couple of days.

Edit: I'd just like to add that walk-off HR Hall hit was one of the hardest hit home runs I'd seen up to that point. It really never got too high and just whistled over the fence.

I would really like to see Ryan Braun break out of it. His average has dropped 50 points in June (well, almost). He was hitting .327 on June 1st. He's hitting .179 for the month with a .263 OBP and a .333 SLG. I don't remember his ever being this off for this long, and it's just killing my fantasy team.

Time to get Dickerson now.

DUke Duke Duke Duke of Earl.

Wow, what a nice picture. A lovely night in Colorado.

Wow. Well, I was a proponent of giving Estrada the hitch after 3. He's really settled down, kept us in the game (after a terrible start), and kept the bullpen from having to eat up too many innings. So bad/good job, Marco! I'd still rather see Nelson out there every five, but I like the way Estrada battled (*shudders*. I literally cringed saying that...)

Imagine that. Overbay strikes out with a man on 3rd and less than 2 outs.

Overbay has been a very good situational hitter this year. He may not look pretty but he's done some things to help this club win games. Including yesterday.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I don't recall that at all. If anyone can dig up any info on this, it'd be interesting to see.

agent39 recently posted (I'll look for it later) that there were only two options for the PTBNL, Green and Brantley. If the Brewers made the playoffs the Indians would get Brantley, if they didn't, they would get Green.

Kintzler to pitch to Tulo. Uh oh. End it here.

At least Ryan is conscious of the fact he's not hitting well right now (as he said a week or two ago). I think a lot of it has to do with him finding himself down in the count along with fouling off pitches he usually connects with. It does seem like a more prolonged slump than I can remember from him, but I have faith he can turn it around. With Davis coming alive, Segura showing some signs of life, Ramirez looking good after coming off the DL, and Luc as hot as he is, it'll be interesting to see what happens to the offense once Braun gets back to his usual form.

Here's the PTBNL. It was an interview with splitterpfj.

Josh: “The deal was, if the Brewers missed the playoffs, the Player to be Named would be Taylor Green, who is another one of my guys, and if the Brewers made the playoffs, it was Michael Brantley. The Brewers made it, and Michael has really blossomed in Cleveland. The Brewers got what they wanted at the time, but I’m sure they wish they had Michael back.”

Kintzler. Get him out. NOW. I don't care what the score is. If we leave him in, this game is tied, or we're behind.
