I was wondering why scooter wasn't on the all star ballot. I wrote him in he is currently one of the top 2-3 2b's in the NL IMO

To me, the big flaw is that he has exactly 4 hits vs LHP. His numbers wouldn't be nearly as good if he played every day.

Not saying he's not valuable......just that his numbers look better than they should because he's shielded somewhat from his weakness.

RoCo, do you know how many ABs he has had against LHP? Just curious and to lazy to go look it up.

Very true. I still think he could hit lefties however I get the platoon right now it's working very well

29 at bats. 31 plate appearances. .339 OPS !!! vs. lefties.

Brew4U - Please PM me if you'd like to discuss this. He used a few "magic words."

Thanks but I've said all I need to say on it.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Francisco and Lawries hit their 12th homers each tonight.

Nice job Gomez. Amazing how he has become so good.

It didn't happen last at-bat, but overall this year it seems like Braun has been down in the count a lot more than previous years. I'm curious if that's true? Is anyone able to find that information? Or what his average is down in the count compared to past years?

At the bottom of the pitch/count section, there's stats for batter ahead, pitcher ahead, or even count when the ball is put in play.

I was talking with a coworker about Gomez today. Our discussion revolved around how two years ago We would cringe when GoGo came up to the plate, and now when he bats I expect him to do something productive.

He went from having no clue to being an MVP type player in the blink of an eye.

Thank you! Wow, his 0-2, 1-2 and 2-2 counts are particularly bad this year. His 0-2 hitting was never good (well, 2012 it was .204), but it looks like 1-2 (.240-.250 and 2-2 (.260-.280) were a lot better the past two years than in 2014 (0-2: .087, 1-2: .186, 2-2: .136.) Even full-count he's only .167. Gotta believe he'll start turning some of those numbers around. I hope.

Michael Brantley leads the Indians in homers and RBI's, and sports an OPS well north of .900. :D

I'm not completely sure of this, but I'm pretty certain that Lucroy was a PTBNL option for the Indians in that trade too. So at least they didn't go that route.

I think you'll find that even elite hitters are going to show pretty crummy numbers when they're hitting from behind in the count. What he needs to do (and you hit the nail on the head) is get back to being more patient, swinging at balls in the hitting zone, and getting ahead in the count.

I don't recall that at all. If anyone can dig up any info on this, it'd be interesting to see.
