* Cain doesn't "Qualify" on the ranking list on fangraphs until he gets 30 more AB's

1. I know, we can't have Hardy and Gomez but still, that was a great trade.

2. Every position would be in the top 32 in AVG (in all of baseball) except Braun / Fielder.

3. Who would of thought when we traded Brantley or even most recently Cain/Escobar, that they would have a better AVG than Braun and Fielder in 2014?

4. Maybe all teams could do this (find players who were on their team and build this type of list) - but I find it interesting that a good majority of this list came through our system.

 

What does this tell you? - I don't know - don't make trades? But even with this lineup, I am not sure if I would trade the wild card year and 2011 for it.

I'm betting many teams would look extremely good on paper if you did this same exercise. More interesting would be to look at just the players who truly came up through the Brewers' system. You could either define that as Milwaukee-drafted players, or something like players who came to Milwaukee before they reached AA. But I'm too lazy to do either!

 

Fielder has really struggled. Scooter Gennett has a higher ISO than Prince Fielder this season. Never thought I'd see that.

Fielder is done for the season. I wonder if he'll ever be the same after having neck surgery.

 

But I remember doing this exercise back in the 90's. You could have put together an all star team of former Brewers.
