2014-06-17 Brewers (Garza) at Diamondbacks (Miley), 8:40 PM CDT [Brewers lose, 4-3]

Rough to see that routine grounder. Scooter makes that play 99 times out of 100. Weeks??? well, what matters is he didn't make this one.

Agree with this 100%. Off the bat, I thought easy grounder. Then I realize that Weeks is absolutely nowhere near the ball and couldn't even touch it on a dive. A 2b with even average range is going to field that ball and likely get the out. Weeks really hurt us in this game in the field and at the plate.

Weeks is brutal defensively, but there is zero chance that Scooter gets an out on that grounder. That ball would have forced Gennett's body away from first base and even if he fielded the ball, he wouldn't have been able to get a lot on the throw. With a slow baserunner, then maybe an out, but Campana can really fly. He'd beat out the hit easily, regardless if Scooter was able to field the ball. Campana has Gomez like speed and comes out of the box from the left side.

I almost feel like they should have went 5 IFs by bringing in Braun. Ground all pitcher, speedy guy. Play the odds.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Is anyone else concerned about Braun? He did hit the ball hard in a couple atbats but I want to see that swagger. He didn't do anything after getting hit by a pitch or when the umpire called him out on a ball. A couple years ago Braun would have went off seems like he is playing really reserved.

No, I'm not concerned. After his suspension and all he's doing the right thing by keeping his head down.

In my mind, it's a bummer that Kintzler took the loss, but from the 9th inning on in a tie game on the road, the opponent has an automatic degree of advantage just by being the home team.

I'm partly relieved that Garza largely avoided the brain-freeze throws that were so vexing on Sunday.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I agree with that. Also agree on putting in a LHP in that spot
