2014-06-17 Brewers (Lohse) at Diamondbacks (Bolsinger), 8:40 PM CDT [Brewers win, 7-5]

So now that we've won...I was worried that maybe this was beginning of the slide. After seeing how this game unfolded, this might have the exact opposite of that.

Things like this can really bring a team together. I'm guessing the Brewers feel that Braun got hit unjustly, and the fact that it took two throws and then to see a reaction like that...you know everyone in the dugout saw that and wanted to make them pay. And Lucroy did. Could be a real team builder that puts a jolt into this team. You could even hear it from the announcers watching the replay - EVERYONE wanted to make them pay, and we did.

Lucroy just said something to the extent of

"The whole situation was ridiculous. We didn't hit him on purpose. In a one run game, we're not going to put the leadoff hitter on base, especially up near his head."

For those still up, I think I just heard that FSN is going to show Gibson talking/presser shortly.

I am in San Diego let me know what he says. If he is honest he will say he did it on purpose and not lie[/quote

They're playing GIbson's presser right now. He's being a dirty liar-pants.

He said "I'm not going to comment on that but you've been around the game long enough".

Then basically said they put Braun on base on purpose to setup the double play and weren't worried about the HR.

He then went on to say that he didn't feel there was any intention of Brewers pitchers in the last two days.

Uh, then why did you throw at Braun in that way? And why did you react and give a very excited fist bump to the pitcher. Gibson was the first guy to greet him when he got there, nobody asked him about the dugout reaction, at least not while the Brewers telecast was showing it.

My gosh, Gibson sounds like he's had a brain injury. Slurring his words a bit & just in general sounding... off.

Not surprisingly, he wrote it all off as 'it was just baseball' & 'I won't comment on that'

Congratulations, Kirk. You're a man! You lose like a man loses, and you run your team into the ground like a man . . . Oh, forget it. You're just a miserable, worthless tool. Once we leave town and stop bothering to hate you actively, no one will even remember you exist. Enjoy the cellar.

Also, I really hope Tony LaRussa was watching this game. Tony I'll never forget to hate for ten minutes.

Wow, Roenicke has some fire in his eyes talking about the HBP stuff

Hahaha-- Ron on the Luc slam: "probably the best at-bat I've ever seen -- after they smoke our guy, they bring in their closer, & the first pitch he sees, he hits a grand slam. There's no way an at-bat can get bigger than that."

But, but, but.... He's a former player! He's tough and gritty....and stuff! These are the types of guys that make great managers.........

We weren't going to leave it over the plate, he's hurt us out there.... The comment from Gibson.

Ya that was his response to the first question on throwing "in" on Braun. Gibson said - He hurt us when we leave it over the plate. We were going to make a pitching change anyway. (My note: no one was warming up when he plunked Braun)

1. Do you think it was necessary (to hit Braun) after 2 of your guys got hit? Gibson - I won't comment on that. You have been around long enough.

2. Next comment was Gibson not knowing what the ump said after first pitch to Braun.

3. Was a warning issued? gibson - I don't think so

4. Gibson - didn't think ziggy would give up slam. (In reference to why on loading bases)

5. Talked about lyles hits, Seguras hits

6. Women reporter says when you played in Milw earlier this year there didn't seem to be bad blood - what happened yesterday with Peralta / Parra and then today? Why would Brewers try to purposely hit your players? Gibson - you would have to ask them. I don't think there is any intention on anyone's part. It's a good clean game. They beat us and that's disappointing.

End of FSWI showing presser.

RR didn't say a whole lot about it other than he felt pretty strongly that he hit Braun on purpose. It wasn't what he said, but you could see it in his face that he was pretty pissed. Good to see, as Ron doesn't usually show that type of fire.

I noticed that too. He sounds downright pissed.

Again, I don't like RRR as a manager, but at least when he talks, gosh, he can enunciate, you can understand him, and he doesn't sound like a totally drunk beer-league softball guy who just got done with an all day tourney. The difference between him and Gibson is night and day.
