Not to belabor this, but Marco Estrada's last 6 starts:

34 2/3 IP

27 ER

13 HR

7.00 ERA

When, Ron, are you going to drop him from the rotation, especially when we have somebody willing to step in @ AAA in Jimmy Nelson. When?

Probably around the All Star break for Nelson as I don't see the Brewers wanting Nelson to reach super 2 status.

I would just stick with Marco the only other realistic option being Fiers who is basically the same pitcher as Marco.

Stache - I am with you on this. I like Estrada and honestly thought he was possibly going to be able to have a special year. He is a 4th starter, I get it, I guess I should re-calibrate my expectations of him. But his propensity for the long ball is scary. Rock and BA kept hammering the point home today about how much of a fly ball pitcher he is, and how he rarely gets ground balls for DP's to be able to get out of jams/innings. Through his 5 innings of work today (IIRC) every out recorded was a fly ball. (except for the few K's he had)

I want to append my last post by agreeing here too. No way do I think Fiers should get Estrada's spot. No chance. I've been down that road before. Fiers is fool's gold as a starter. He is fine right where he is, and that might even be debatable.

So in short, it's no real easy solution. Again, I keep going back to the fact that Marco is the 4th starter so these are the warts you get with guys on the back end of the rotation. Was just so annoying the Brewers fought so hard to get back in at 3 - 3 and then Marco flushes all that hard work away in the very next inning.
