I like Gillaspie or Holmes.

I really like Medeiros, but maybe I'm the only one. Extremely unique player, high upside, seemed like a good kid (according to the 10 second interview of him I saw).

Brewers fans: Brewers are idiots for taking Jungmann/Bradley, who were highest ranked players based on industry consensus.

Brewers fans: Brewer are idiots for taking a pitcher they think is much better than industry consensus rankings.

He profiles as a reliever right? I don't understand why you do that at 12 with other higher upside arms on the board.

I like the pick. I don't care where the 'experts' ranked him...there was no way he was going to last until their second pick. Perhaps if they could've traded down, they would have. This is obviously the guy they wanted to be certain they got into the system.

Oy. 90-91 mph fastball according to MLB Network. I think this was a big time reach. I'm glad they went HS arm but Holmes or Toussaint would have been the better pick. Hopefully this was made with the idea of overspending with their next two picks.

Not all Brewers fans.

Edit: The first part is me. Only because they were extremely low ceiling guys.

Sigh.

I'm actually not very disappointed because Kodi was kinda the guy I liked that was just in that 15-25 meaning we wouldn't pick him and I didn't like the 10-18 area of guys not expecting Schwarber/Conforto/Pentecost getting selected leaving the trio of Newcombe/Toussaint/Holmes

I did say in video I didn't like toussaint/holmes due to pitcher precense/flatter FB+control issues for both.

I'm okay with this pick. It's a LH HS pitcher something we can use and you know what? He or Foster Griffin were the best available for that distinguishment.

That's not really the point, he might have been there at #41...

I don't have problem with the Brewers taking who they thought was the best talent, the problem I have is that he blew them away in the workout. When was the last time one of the players who wow'd in their workout with the Brewers actually was that good? There's actually a rather long list of failures there...

I'm cautiously optimistic at this about the pick, I wanted a lefty, I got a lefty even though he wasn't one of my guys.

MillerParkSouth....no, Medeiros does not profile as a reliever, he is a guy who may end up in the bullpen, but that's FAR from consensus.

Paul 253, I don't know how that happened, but that's bad information, Medeiros hit 97 MPH at the workout in Miller Park.

Have most people even seen this guy? Can't imagine there is a heaving scouting presence for a high school player from Hawaii. It's very possible that the Brewers just have a much better read on this guy than online consensus rankings.

Here's the general ranking on Kodi 25-30. Money slot value there is 1.76-1.9mil So the Brewers must, must save at least 600k signing Kodi if not 750k. How much that impacts the 2nd/3rd pick will depend on who falls in the draft.

This could be like 2 # 20s in this draft and hopefully its both HS players with upside when doing this.
