Wondering how Reynolds was available on a minor league deal. Sure he has some warts, but he looks like a decent corner infielder to me

The average that flirts with the Mendoza line... But like I said before, bearable when he's hitting for power.

He didn't have a reputation as a good defender, but has been pretty darn good this season.

It's a nice little discussion to have. If a guy gets 400 ABs over the course of a year ... the difference between a .200 hitter and a .250 hitter is 20 hits. His career OBP is .326 .. which isn't shocking and considering the BA is actually really good. Are you willing to sacrifice that average for the power he gives you? If you are asking him to bat in the middle of the lineup and get 600 PAs I would argue not. But hitting in the bottom of a lineup? I would actually call him an asset. If his defense historically has been what we are watching now ... I don't understand why a minor league deal was the best he could do ... he seems like a pretty good platoon option almost anywhere.

100 even through 6, and his spot probably not coming up this inning. Personally I leave him in, but thinking RR will not.

Edit: apparently they will as they say the pen is quiet. If he can get through the 7th our bullpen will be quite rested.

His defense and his BA are the reason he was available for minor league option. Batting 6-8 can't really complain as his power had been a plus. If guys can be on base in front of him that makes it even better.

Well done, sir. I was thinking our current 3TO though. Got another heart in you?

Pretty much agree with all of this. I will not be voting Reynolds onto any all-star team. If DM can find an upgrade over him, great. However I don't feel any urgent need to replace him with just anybody. If DM were to do something crazy in the off season, like acquire two all-star corner infielders, I would still offer Reynolds a major league deal. His power would be great off the bench.

This is correctly sized for use on the forum. And if you have any specific image you'd rather I use, just share the link.

Royals finally scored against Miller. Would be nice to be back to a 5 game lead by the end of the night.

Yes it would! What is the high water mark this year so far? 12 over .500 and 6.5 games up?

Without actually looking it up, I can't remember the last time Kintzler was able to actually finish an inning he started.

May 26th (two appearances ago) v. BAL. He got the third out in the 7th & worked a scoreless 8th.

I think I can support his roster spot however I don't like him as the 7th or 8th inning option until he can get back to pitching well... I would've probably let Smith stay in the game after only throwing 5 pitches

Ah, there it is. I figured it probably wasn't as bad as my perception would lead me to believe.
