Pretendastronaut - Thanks for always posting the lineups!

I like this lineup a lot. I wonder if we are better off going this way until ARam is back. Also, where does ARam bat in this lineup (with Braun 2nd)?

I liked Gomez at the top of the lineup, seemed to work when we were winning (!)

I'd go

CF Carlos Gómez

RF Ryan Braun

1B Jonathan Lucroy

2B Rickie Weeks

SS Jean Segura

LF Khris Davis

3B Mark Reynolds

C Martín Maldonado

RHP Matt Garza

Easy - 5th - at least in my opinion

No Weeks should be the 5th batter especially against a LHP and especially when you have a bunch of weak OBP players in the rest of the lineup. You could make a case for Davis in the 5th spot but until he starts to take his walks I don't see that as being a good idea. This lineup is actually fairly good.

Hey Garza made it through the first without giving up a run. It must be our day

It seemed like our day in his last start against the Braves, too.

You look at what GoGo is doing with the bat so far and then factor in the elite def you have to start talking MVP IF he keeps this going.

Could be, but his "style" seems to turn off a lot of people...

Don't want to start a thread on it, but does anybody think that perhaps Gomez is "performance enhanced"? Popular amongst Dominican boys and he is on pace for 35-40 this year. Nearly unheard of out of the CF position. Just curious. I'm not trying to start a rumor, so much as when you see anybody connecting with new found power, it seems I always step back now and go "hmmmm".

He's definitely going to get votes. The problem is until Troy Tulowitzki has hit 30game+ injury this season, he's running away with MVP at his pace. 4.7WAR in 49games. I don't want to go by on pace numbers. But it's legit to say Tulo can get 40HRs as a SS and bat over .340. while totaling over 10WAR.

No because he's been trending in this direction. How many CFs are 6'3" 230lbs? Mike Trout is 6'2 McCutchen is just 5'10". Gomez has the physical body to be a power hitter.
