2014-05-25 Brewers (Nelson) at Marlins (Wolf), 12:10 PM CDT [Brewers win, 7-1]

Bet the ladies love Gomez's pant selection today. Wow those are tight.

According to Anderson - Gomez had them specially ordered because he is feeling "sexy" batting in the 4 spot and playing in Miami. Gogo is hillarious.

Racking up the pitch count early. Come on jimmy, settle in.

Nelson is going to be a good one...he's got the rookie nerves today, but the big boy can pitch. 5 innings may be it with his pitch count. We get another 6 runs we can show them our Wang.

These starters go 8 deep. They're going to keep us in this thing until they get healthy and the bats come around.

All Braunie needs is the HR now. Exciting!

Only 1 hit thru 4 innings but yes, has to get that pitch count in check. He's a big guy, let hungry thru 6 today. 110-115 pitches, oh well.

Let's keep in mind that Nelson is starting because one of our starters went down, no reason to be in a big hurry to get rid of effective ones. I would be surprised if Garza doesn't get hot for a month or something and bring things closer in line to his career numbers.

Nelson isn't the only pitching depth we have and Estrada would be the guy to move if possible simply because he's never been able to establish a full healthy season in the bigs. So if Nelson is going to pitch for Estrada at some point anyway due to health problem and Marco only has 1 more year of team control remaining, what have the Brewers really lost?

I'm not opposed to trading a pitcher, but our depth is not something to be quickly traded away just because. I'd even buy that Nelson replacing Estrada would improve the rotation. Injuries are too hard to predict though to make the move until you can value for either the prospect or the relatively cheap back end starter. Teams are always willing to add those guys during the stretch.

Nelson belongs in the Bigs. FOR-EV-ER!!!!!!!(sandlot squints voice lol). Please don't move him back to Triple-A.

I like Jimmy too, but there isn't really any room for him at the moment. He will be an injury fill in for now, but I wouldn't mind seeing Melvin try shopping Marco at some point.

If Jimmy isn't in the rotation he needs to be in Nashville growing his game as a starter.
