What is up with Rickie? Looks like we have a 2B controversy on our hands. Almost time to do a straight up platoon...

Well, at least this game no longer feels over.

I see the Bucs lost again to the Yanks in the first game of their twin bill. They're lost!

It's still early but I think the Bucs are proving last year was a fluke.

Totally agree that it's still early, but a complete winning season is no fluke. However, there's no reason to expect the Reds or Cards to collapse and give them a shot at the Brews. 4th place in THIS division is not a place you want to be.

That was outside on Bianchi, but I suppose it doesn't really matter.

He is incredibly bad. Like bill hall in his last season bad. Doesn't look like he knows how to swing a bat at this point.

Bianchi still sporting a respectable .336 OBP.

Whoops, my bad, that's his OPS.

Bianchi wouldn't hit in my local amatuer league. He stinks and needs to go. I don't care how good his defense is. There are others who play good D too.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Instant replay has to be the biggest thing to happen in Baseball in the last 25 years.

The strike in 1994 might be bigger.

Honestly, is this whole team just up there guessing? I've seen so many backwards K's today; it's ridiculous.

Second only to widespread steroid use IMO.

You mean the time they secretly juiced the ball in the mid-90s and then blamed the huge power spikes on steroids despite the lack of any evidence that steroid-use correlates with hitting?

When you have many injuries, you have to count on your depth. When your depth is guys like Jeff Bianchi, Logan Schafer, and Lyle Overbay, you're going to struggle mightily. It's not rocket science. We're carrying a bench of a washed up 37 year old first basemen and a couple of AAA players and expecting to be able to serviceably fill in.

Overbay and Bianchi would not crack another 25 man roster in baseball if they were cut today.
