That lineup looks goood! But Travis Wood can turn in a jem at any time and is also a tough out at the plate. But if I had a bet on this game I would go with Brews to win 5-2 ;)

I humbly disagree on the lineup... too many AAAA bats and struggling players. This lack of offense through injuries, illnesses and prolonged slumps really gets old. Anyways, prove me wrong again split squad lineup!

You may be right, but compared to yesterday's lineup it's like night and day. And I agree with AZ that Weeks leading off is a good move.

In the Reds game (which I am also watching) Hamilton and Votto combined for some fancy base running to plate 2 in the 1st vs. the struggling Phils. But phenom Cingrani, rerturning from the DL was rudely greeted by the Phils as the 1st 2 batters in the bottom of the inning went DEEP. Tied after one.

How do you watch the opposing pitcher walk 3 batters and then hack at the first pitch to end the inning?

No problem with it at all. He knows the pitcher doesn't want to walk him and there's a good chance he's coming right down the pipe on the first pitch. That's exactly what happened and Davis hit it hard.

You don't look for a walk there. You look for a meaty pitch to hit.

More crap from the offense today.

Wood is hanging every pitch. For some reason none of our hitters are major league quality lately.

You can tell this offense is really close to breaking out, with all the pop-ups and such.

Not to mention all the laser beam ground outs the infielders have to charge. They got families to think about!

Oh, and that double by Valbuena likely sealed the game.

The decline has started. This season will be a bust by the end of June.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Is there anyone left who legitimately thinks the Brewers can compete with this offense? I know today is particularly bad with A-Ram/Gomez out, but the bench is still part of the offense.

Melvin needs to make some substantial moves sooner rather than latter.

agreed. If healthy we have a top tier offense. Obviously these guys cannot stay healthy though.
