2014-05-16 Brewers (Lohse) at Cubs (Samardzija), 1:20 PM CDT [Brewers win, 4-3]

Bench would look better if Maldy would be used as a PH every game. But that can't happen because the Manager's handbook says never use your backup catcher as a PH.

RR had both Lucroy and Madonado in the starting lineup yesterday, so I don't think he's to tethered to that.

That's different. They're both in the game, so if the C goes down, the other can move behind the plate.

Yeah they can, but I've seen Roenicke use his backup C as a PH plenty of times, particularly when Kottaras was backup. I don't think he's concerned about the backup catcher problem especially since they didn't have a replacement on hand when Maldonado was suspended.

Macha was pretty big on that and I don't know if he ever actually did use a catcher as a PH.

I'm not sure what to expect in the 9th from KRod because Dead Simmons is here and we weren't down by three runs.

When I predict a win early on they win. I'm 5 for 5 now in game threads.

You also told me yesterday to not worry, that Wandy would give up another homerun, but he didn't.

WHAT SHOULD I BELIEVE!!!

A little more of the 30 pitches of terror variety today. Thank goodness they're playing the Cubs with the wind blowing in...just hope he gets his location back soon. Can't be missing up like that against real teams.

Ahahahah, the real teams.

In italy they say good teams are the one that win when they play bad, the brewers are great to keep the mojo goinanyway they can

Right. 13. Take away his 30 starts or so, and that's 13 PH in roughly 130 games. That's not using him enough as a PH, especially when other options are the likes of Herrera, Bianchi, Overbay. Maldy is the only guy on the bench that I feel could not only get a hit, but can actually drive it out.

He gave up 2 in that game and the home run ball is becoming a huge issue for him. I put 80% probability on that. Good odds.

I don't count extra inning games. Those are 50/50.

Haha priceless. Too bad you can't find evidence about a claim he made about the Brewers going 89-1 in games he's attended. (Yes, I took a little liberty with his numbers.)

Hey, I like this. Let's not count games where the Brewers score less than 4 runs too.

No, because you can win games by scoring less than 4 runs.

But you can't win games in extra innings. Got it.

Too bad Major League Baseball doesn't do the same and they still count in the W-L columns.

Everything is about probability the likeliness of something happening in 9 innings. Extra inning games are 50/50. So much is unknown about the positional moves that were used up and who's left. Now, before a game starts you can predict the probability. Think of it like when a SP get's a no decision after giving up the tying run in the 9th and they go to extras.

If you predict an extra inning game they pay extra, Daubs. Low probability higher payout.

If you predict a win and they don't win you don't get paid, regardless of whether or not it went to extras.

Ok, so I'm 4-1 in predicting a win before the game starts. That's a hot streak based on high probability and and a good amount of winnings should I have bet on it. What's the issue here now?

I'm 2-0 when I locate "free" streams off the internet to watch games.

By your logic, maybe I have a skill.....

You didn't predict anything. There's more to it than your thinking. The pitchers historys, lineups, indiviual player struggles up until that point or the opposite individual players successes, pitching matchups, home runs stats, ball park factors, can the team bunt. I go through all of this before the game and before my prediction. This is how I know the probability, Daubs.

For the record, Daubs, the Brewers will win 100 games this season.

I am 2-0 when I stay up all night and listen to the game.

8-1 when I kicked the dog.

0-2 when I screamed at the cat. (Cat now has liberty around the house)

pat wife on bum, only 5-5, but the 5 losses were tempered by 'other positives'

Finally, I have predicted that any time the Brewers don't lose... they win. I am right 100% of the time on that one. So it appears the key to winning is to first not lose. I am off to Vegas.
