I just can't fathom why we wouldn't challenge. It would have removed a run from scoring position and possibly saved this game.

 

This whole "we need to be 100% sure in case we need to challenge a play later" mentality is just stupid. Games can swing in the first inning. If you're 95% sure, challenge the damn thing.

That's certainly true, but you know that there's 9 innings to go, and having a challenge left LATE could loom LARGE by comparison.

 

I'm pretty certain that even if you don't have a challenge left late, the crew can look at a call on their own initiative. (7th or later isn't it?)

 

Either way, no excuse not to challenge that call in the 1st.

We are really not adjusting to the approach that MLB pitchers take with us at all. It's nothing but hack, hack, hack. Starting pitchers going 7-8 innings on us is going to become commonplace.

Glad Gomez appears to be okay.

 

At least serving a suspension will give him a few days off. Still, the timing really couldn't be worse. Need Braun, Luc, and Segura to really hit next week.

 

Back in the game for now. Garza needs a quick one. Get back out there, offense.
