Agreed. I want to vote Coulter #1 :)

Someone could volunteer to put together a community P50, there haven't been formal discussions on the P50 in some time as far as I know.

I'm not going to hang a banner and declare victory, but Nelson, Taylor, and Coulter are all having really good seasons and so many of the pitching prospects are atleast having success that things are certainly in a better spot than they were 6 weeks ago.

"Fiers", and he no longer qualifies as a prospect given his previous MLB experience, and even without that experience he'd be too old.

I would rather just do a Power 20 or something. Trying to rank guys 20-50 is a pointless exercise.

Agreed. A Top 20 would make it palatable to re-visit multiple times each season, too.

I think a top 20 is a good idea. When you start getting past that, it's really kind of hard to judge guys for most of us (well, at least for me).

Top 20, I think, a lot of people can manage. It would be fun to have something again.

If no one else wants to do it, I would be happy to take submissions and tabulate results for a community Top 20 (or 30).

I would think we could keep it pretty simple. Anyone can submit on a thread or via message their top 20 prospects. I'd record each submission, with the top pick getting 20 points, next person 19 points, etc. I'd just have to set up a time table to get submissions, and make sure people are clear on who is ineligible.

We could then create a thread that one of the mods could pin to the top of the forum. I would list the players in order of our votes, add in where they are playing, position, stats - perhaps any important news about them. We could update the list periodically.

Perhaps there's a better way to handle a community top 20. I'm happy to consider any other ideas.

Again, if someone else wants to do this, that's fine. I'm just offering my time if no one else is interested.

I'm not sure who would bless this set up, but if people are interested in me taking lead on it, just let me know and I'm happy to get started.

Thanks for stepping up, that sounds like a solid plan to me.

A community one is better than nothing. I guess I liked the original Power 50 because I felt it was being done by someone (or multiple someones) that were more or less "experts" on our farm systems. I feel a community one would sort of lose that expert type feel.

Maybe not, I'm sure lots of people on here know a lot about our prospects, but a lot of people like me, are also more general followers of it. If I were to submit who I feel our top prospects would be - it wouldn't be off scouting reports or anything, it would be off the occasional box score and what I've read from other posters periodically and that would seemingly defeat the purpose of it in the first place.
