Hoffman: Does TJ scare anyone anymore?

Brewer Fanatic Contributor
Jeff Hoffman, one of the top pitchers in the college ranks and at one time a projected top 10 pick in the draft, will undergo TJ surgery. Should this impact his draft status? Is it almost better to draft a guy AFTER he's had TJ? At least then you know the odds are likely he won't need it again.

I guess I wasn't talking about Hoffman so much as as I was talking about TJ surgery. I mean, does it bother anybody anymore when a pitcher has a TJ under his belt? Or is there something to having that surgery at a young age that would raise a red flag?

Not me. Hoffman's a guy who could be an ace and I pretty much am with you. I assume every pitcher is going to have a major injury at some point. Getting a guy after he's had that TJ surgery might be better than a college pitcher who's thrown a lot of innings and hasn't yet.

More than that, he's a top 5 talent who could be a true ace.
