2014-05-04 Brewers (Lohse) at Reds (Simon), 3:10 CST [Brewers lose, 4-3, 10 innings]

No game thread? :( I decided there would be bad Karma if I didn't start one... Brewers lead 3-2 in the 7th after a double play gets them out of a bases loaded jam in the botton of the 6th. C'mon bullpen, time to work your magic! (maybe one more inning from Lohse)

It just seems like our hitters are less patient lately. I feel like Simon has been getting of innings today on less than 6-8 pitches (per inning)

The lack of patience drives me nuts. Every opposing SP is going to go 8+ if we don't hit them hard.

Is a little frustrating to play a team with a struggling bullpen and have their starters throw 80 pitches through 7. Cueto similar yesterday to I believe.

But if that's the biggest complaint we are probably ok....

I know im likely in the minority here, but can we please stop the God Bless America trend now? I know why its done and can respect that, but its been 13 years.

Not much to say other than agreed. Lots of interesting articles on this subject, but this one jumped out.

I just texted a buddy baffled by the move to take out Smith. He carves up 3 straight hitters. I figured "ok, maybe they wanted Thorny to get a few batters," but they brought in Kinzler who's been shaky lately

Agreed 100%. It's just not necessary outside of Memorial Day, Labor Day and 9/11.

Gotta keep freedom free though .... how can we do that without a song to bless us during baseball games?

Every one on this team needs to practice bunting for at least an hour after the game. How pathetic have they been with bunting so far?

I'm no fan of it in any situation except to squeeze in the winning run.

I'm not a huge fan of bunting either but if you have no outs, a runner on second and a tie game in extras it's a no brainer.

It's really not a no brainer because you're playing for one run when there's no guarantee you need only one. Not only that, we're wasting a pinch hitter to bunt, which I absolutely despise.

I know that's the opinion of baseball purist's. My thinking is that you never surrender an out under any circumstances. I've seen too many disastrous outcomes of failed attempts, and even more where a "successful" bunt yielded nothing.

I think I just considered it a no brainer because of how bad the brewers are at hitting the baseball currently.
