Link Report for Sun. 4/27 - Nashville On A Bit Of A Roll

Mass Haas
any chance Bradley gets a move up ?

There's no room for him in AA right now:

Jungmann

Gagnon

Hall

Suter

Cravy

They could bump Cravy back to relief to make room but he's pitching very well, I don't remember who the original 5th starter was.

If the reports on Bradley's velocity are accurate and he's throwing in the low to mid 90's, they can find a spot for him. They have a lot invested in him.

So assuming you need to test Bradley given he was a 1st round pick and you have a lot invested into him, who do you move? What do you do? Jungman to AAA?

Obviously there is a logjam of legit arms ahead of him, but I'd like to see him actually pushed instead of spending 3 straight years at the same pitcher friendly level. All the reports on him are good, he supposedly looked bigger, stronger, etc...but we still need to see him do it. He's finally looking like the guy who some thought could go in the top 5 in the draft and was rated in the top 10 by most outlets, but lets see him do it at a level where we can actually believe he's a future starter for the Brewers.

Mr Green and MR Coultier have been off the a Very Nice start glad for them Both especially MR Green

It looks like it's been a really good 1st month for our entire organization. There are still players we have high hopes for struggling, but it seems that there are more guys who are exceeding expectations early on, who've shown big time improvements early in the season than in years past. Having a big league roster that hopefully can stay healthy and not force guys to be brought up early can only help those guys develop.

There are any number of ways to make room for Bradley without pushing prospects up to AAA to do it, I just don't think the Brewers will go that route. He could certainly take the Moye/Cravy spot in the rotation... Moye is 26 and repeating AA. Cravy has been in the system forever and I didn't realize until just now that he's only 24, seems like he should be older than that.

I just don't see much happening until the deadweight on Nashville's roster is removed or some MLB injuries allow for upward mobility. I doubt they do much right now with both Nashville and Huntsville over .500, it seems winning at both levels is a priority this season.

I'm all for having minor league squads that don't stink, but there are plenty of vets that could get moved aside for Bradley with seriously hurting either team or impacting the depth (of bodies).

If Bradley continues his strong start you gotta get him to AA before too long. I think the glut of interchangeable pitching on the Nashville roster is going to get churned through and won't be a deterrent for any legit pitching prospects getting promotions that they deserve, including Jungmann and Bradley if they continue to impress.

The overall view of Bradley as a prospect has been negative since shortly after he was drafted, but he's exactly the type of prospect I'd be hesitant to include in any trades to bolster the 2014 MLB roster...if he's regained the velocity and command that warranted him top of the draft consideration going into his last college season he could make alot of doubters change their tune. He's got to face better competition in a league that isn't as pitcher-friendly as High A, though.
