Any update on Segura? I just heard what happened. Did it look as bad as it sounds?

It wasn't a full swing, so in that sense not as bad as you might think. But he still got clocked by Braun's bat.

At one point Cubs announcers said he might have a broken jaw, but on Twitter I'm hearing he just has a gash by his eye. If the latter, I wouldn't think it's that bad, unless he had a concussion or something.

It's sort of the reverse of when BA started with the Brewers where he would start out really excited and then slowly pull back his enthusiasm like a deflating balloon as a the ball was caught.

I actually think BA still does this.

That new Cubs pitcher has got a nice mane on him.

Did Axford start the ninteenth-century-facial-hair revival in MLB? Brian Wilson contributed too, obviously, but I feel like Axford was first.

I had no problem with the attempt by Rickie to make it home on the foul pop-up. I suppose the slide wasn't ideal, but whatevs. Looking at the replays, he the catcher may have actually missed the tag, but nobody seemed to complain.

By the way, not that it's happened much, but I've noticed that important (i.e. plays at the plate) very close calls to end innings haven't been getting reviewed. It almost seems like everybody just trots off the field and they think it would be too much of a pain in the ass to review it, possibly reverse the call, and bring everybody back.

Reds and Card lose tonight? Awesome! Brewers will have a 10 game lead of everybody by the end of April.

What a horrible slide by Weeks, if he slides to the opposite side he's safe, he bent his leg towards the catcher allowing him to make the tag.

Looked like he did all he could. You have to raise a leg.

You slide the opposite way with your legs out towards foul territory and swipe the plate with your hand. If he does that there's no way the catcher would be able to tag him.

That thought crossed my mind, but you know...those plays happen so fast. You can't always do the right thing. Great effort but the ball beat him.

I think it was a pretty good 'no challenge' on RR's part. From the WGN replays from the 1st base side it looked liked the tag was applied. I do agree with you that, especially when the defense makes the last out of an inning, there seem to be less challenges.

um, Braun just bunted for a base hit?

The man has no regard for his slugging percentage??

But seriously folks.... All this Brew bashing is starting to get to me. Heading for the turnstiles. Meet you in St. Louis. ;)

NO!!! Stay here!!! You're our good luck charm!

Just hopping on to show love for Estrada ... What a game. From mop up / long relief guy to awesome #4 ... Way to go Marco

I suck - sorry Marco

Nooooo, what did you just do!!!

Guess it wouldn't be a Brewers win without a K-Rod save this year.
