That might be the end of the line for Rickie. He's providing nothing, Overbay is coming back tomorrow (not that he provides anything), Schafer is dealing with a hamstring issue which means they may need to keep Herrera up a little longer for outfield depth. It just seems like tomorrow may be the day they make the move on Rickie.

If you ever going to be correct I hope it's now.

1) It's silly to give up on a guy after 23 ABs.

b) Doug Melvin is still our GM, last time I checked, therefore Rickie isn't going anywhere before July I would guess at the earliest.

Lepay >>>> Anderson. It's a shame the beginning of the football season and possibly the end of the basketball season overlaps with the Brewers because I want him full time as the Brewers broadcaster.

Thank you world and braun for fulfilling my request for some long balls. I missed the second half of the game and i'm still pretty heated about aramis's error counted as a hit. Garza is getting screwed pretty hard so far but looks great out there otherwise.

Joe Block is hilarious. He literally called Braun's hit as "There's a swing and a line drive base hit to left....and it's going to get over the wall!" (very slight exclamation point)

Does he only have one eye or something? No depth perception whatsoever.

I know what you mean. Yesterday on brauns double his call went like this, braun with a fly ball to right...tabata on the warning track...and he has to play it off the wall. Braun hustles safely into second. Same level the entire time with a slight uptick when braun made it to second.

Remember what Yoda said:

No way I'm giving up on Davis. Not even close. He will get it going. So will Segura.

Oh, I love when Brauny is locked in. With a bad thumb, he's leading the NL in runs scored, fifth in home runs, sixth in SLG and RBI.

Dude, it way more than 23 AB we are talking over a full 165 worth of games. However, we both will agree that DM is usually very LATE in pulling the trigger. Money is always the reason. Regardless it's late. I'm ready for Gennett full time just for his defense alone.

I get all the LePay love for Matt after that call but, BA would of know that was gone as soon as it was hit by Braun, poor Matt didn't even realize it was gone till after it was over the fence. Granted Matt will get that soon and we are so lucky to have him, but lets not go overboard because we are all Wisconsin fans.

BTW - The Great 8 delivers again!

At some point when the team starts to cool off Doug will need to tinker and try and fix some of these issues, but the hot start makes it a lot easier to keeping waiting and see if the right kind of opportunity arrives. Injuries, personality classes that sort of thing that arise mid-season. Ideally a change of scenery for a first basemen type would be great, but a number of things could open up that would let us get more value than just releasing guys right now.

Because of the tremendously positive response to Lepay's call of Braun's 9th inning homer, I just watched the clip. Can someone explain what was so special about it? It was a perfectly fine job of announcing, but it was pretty standard. Not being in Wisconsin, I don't get to watch/listen to all the games, but when I have, I have been impressed with Lepay. That said, I don't see how he's some godsend compared to BA. BA is an excellent broadcaster in multiple sports. Now, if there comes a time when BA goes national full time, then hell yes, bring on Lepay.

Not that I don't like BA, but I'll take that versus BA taking a few seasons to stop thinking every fly ball was a home run.
