2014-04-16 Cardinals (Kelly) at Brewers (Peralta), 12:10 PM CDT [Brewers win, 5-1]

Yeah, that's a nice win. Give us some momentum, keeps us 2 games in front. Our pitching has been awesome, hopefully the offense can come around as to me a lot of the offense is really struggling - Segura, Davis, Braun (two hot games but otherwise pretty bad), pretty much all the backups are off to rough starts as well.

The streak had to end at some point, I'm happy given the context to just take 1 out 3 and be able to focus on just trying to win and not getting psyched out by the Cards, the streak or whatever. Getting swept would have been pretty hard to swallow. Now we still are leading the division. And a lot of that is having so many guys who can just go out and give you a really good start and the pen to hold it.

i'd like to continue to state... FatJuan doesnt make that out

If this is to point out Mark Reynolds' defense today, I will agree wholeheartedly. In fact, I've pretty impressed with him over there generally.

I feel a little silly being happy with losing 2 out of 3 at home. But that's what the Cardinals do to you.

Good start through 15 games! Keep it up on the road. Would really like to see Segura get something going. He hasn't seemed to hit many balls hard this year, though the double the other night was nice.

Can't really complain much about going 11-4 to start the year, especially given the teams we've faced to this point. That said, the pitching can't keep this up forever and we're going to need the bats to get going or we'll be in a slide sooner or later. The pitching has been pretty darn good though, awfully impressive...pretty much the entire roster. Other than Duke, who I just strongly dislike.

Peralta is pretty damn good.

Overall a pretty disappointing season but I am certainly not complaining sitting at 11-4 after having already played 4 playoff teams plus what is expected to be a decent Philly team.

I am confused by this. It has been a disappointing season? Or did you mean series?

Smart win by the Brewers today. I couldn't watch the game, but did Wily pitch intelligently (pitching outside) or were the Cardinal hitters just dumb today?

I didn't see it either, but I can only assume Peralta had 100% of his pitches on the outside corner, and the Brewers' hitters went to the opposite field on every swing- hence the win. Now, if they do that every time, stands to reason they will never lose to the Cardinals ever again.

A win against the Cards without a word from our manager/pitching coach (PrinceFielderx1), good to see it can be done.

I new by the 3rd inning that the Brewers could win. So, I was focused on the Brewers game than posting.

Peralta will be a #1 SP as he starts locating his FB and he did that today, so watch out.

It will be closer to a 50/50 split.

But you claim this after the fact, rather than in the 3rd inning. Ohhhhh so close. Credibility? Buh by.

I don't brag, but if you want me to I'll do it next time.

Gomez drives in runs by hitting up the middle and Lucroy drives in 2 by hitting to RF with bases loaded. They have learned. :)

I think those two have been pretty good all season, but glad you're happy. A Brewers win is always a good thing.

I'm very happy. Thrilled. They just need to do this every time and we will in my opinion be the NL Central champs.

Im glad the Brewers were able to pull out this game. Its a nice birthday present whenever they win.

Actually doing any strategy everytime is bad, it is easy to exploit predictability.

Good.

The goal for the Brewers should be keep hitting opposite field and force the Cards pitcher to change their game plan and pitch you inside more. That's when they will start hitting their home runs vs the Cards and blow open the games.

That sounds pretty good in theory Prince. But I don't know if a pitcher can be effective w/o moving the ball around.
