Bobble repair/issues question

My Molitor from tonight had the hole for the bat partially filled in by paint and such, so the bat doesn't go in far and definitely doesn't stay in at all. Any suggestions for how to fix this without damaging the bobble?

Peavy,

try taking it to Guest relations during this series and just explain the problem, they will always exchange it, I always check all my bobbles when I'm at the game first, because I know that they exchange the day of the game, but this is something that you couldn't have broken yourself, so I would imagine that they would give you a new one.

if they don't, I have no idea, I guess I would try a really really small drill bit and try and drill it off, but that is also risky, I've never seen or heard of that happening to a bobble before.

Hopefully this helps...

OK, having had some sleep I have now got our Paulies out of the box and assembled in front of me.

The two we have do look different. On one, there is a hole under Paulie's right thumb, which allows the bat to fit better (and stay in place). The other one lacks that extra hole, and although I can get the bat to rest in place, it doesn't stay well. (I can turn the other upside down and the bat stays in.)

I wouldn't quite call it "filled in with paint", so Peavey, yours may be worse yet; but the space under the thumb does seem to make a difference.

I don't think lil' Paulie's hands would survive any kind of power tool. But if you had a small awl or something, you might be able to gradually create a slightly bigger hole; or poke through the extra paint, if it's more a matter of paint blocking the bat hole. Either that, or I would approach it from the bat angle - cut it a bit or shave off some of that little lighter brown part, and then it might fit better in the hole you've got.

That's all I have for suggestions.

(P.S. Perhaps I should point out that our extra Molitor is spoken for already.)

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Unfortunately, I live west of Madison, so I won't be making another trip in to this series. I guess I hadn't thought to check the bat's ability to fit, I had just made sure everything was in order (like not in pieces).

On one, there is a hole under Paulie's right thumb, which allows the bat to fit better (and stay in place).

Yeah, one of my two will stay in place, though some of the green/tan (sorry, colorblind) paint from the bottom of the bat still shows, but it stays in place. The other one has the opening half-closed with paint and the bat won't even rest there.

I suppose I could try calling guest relations and see what happens.... not sure what the outcome will be, though. I figure I'll try to bore out the hole.

The powder blue I got does not hold the bat well and has some paint missing from his hathttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

The two I found after the game both pinstripes only one of them does the bat fit.

Any suggestions on what paint & painting method to use to fix the non painted part of the hat. It is a really small size of missing paint.
