Wisconsin Badgers vs Kentucky Wildcats - Final Four - 4/5/14 - 7:49 CST

Just turned on the pregame show (What is this the Super Bowl now) and it was pretty much unanimous for Kentucky. While it wouldn't be a monumental upset or anything; I still feel pretty confident that UW will give them everything they can handle. This isn't Kentucky of 2012; they are not as good as that team and hopefully we can get them rattled with a nice start

I think it's funny that there's so much UK love when Arizona is probably better than UK. I don't buy this whole "they've come together as a team in two weeks!" They were unlucky in close games during the year and lucky during the tournament. I think UW can and should win...which sort of ticks me off because if they lose I'll be really upset. :)

I don't know. Kentucky was, what, pre-season #1? They're a good ballclub. They're young, they're fast, they have good ball players.

That said, they had a terrible season (based on what they thought they would do.) They made the tourney and have rose to the occasion, similar to that Steve Fisher Michigan team in '89 (I think?)

I think the Badgers may have their hands full tonight. I'm hoping not, but I'm afraid this won't end well. However, I thought that against Arizona, as well.

My prediction is Badgers winning in a close game. I've rode them in every pool. I've never been able to honestly pick Wisconsin as a Final Four team and believe they can do it. (We all probably pick them as a "homer" pick every year on at least one bracket.) But this year, they were legit.

I've been nervous about this for 2 days.

p.s. How many are listening to the "homer" broadcast as opposed to the National feed with Jim Nantz?

Pretty great first half, considering. Some "poorer" shot choices in the last 2 minutes. Things should improve a bit with Jackson available for most of the 2nd half.

GO BADGERS!

Fun game to watch thus far.

I think Randle after his finish and the TO called yelled at the crowd, We're winning this game....Clearly the boy didn't care to win the regular season games. I cant fathom 5% of College basketball teams being able to contain this kid from 30pts every game with asserting himself. Yet here I look and he avg. 15/10 on his season.

I got to watch 10-12 min. of Kentucky's teamcast...wow, I never seen such a homer commentor than their color commentator? WI would score and it was almost not acknowledged. Then "Young" would do something and it was just the worst praise over praise over praise on this Young kid.....Oh WI scored and Young got the ball back in between the 3rd or 4th rePraising of Young....

If I were just listening to the game I wouldn't have known WI got the ball or scored....

Thankfully I'm now listening to Nantz/Kerr/Anthony now. I hate Kentucky even more after listening to that broadcast.

I just had that feeling that Jackson had to hit all 3 free throws. Kentucky has just hit all the big shots.

This one is so tough to take; especially with a very beatable team waiting for you in the championship.

Not sure I will be able to sleep tonight; at least we have virtually this entire team coming back next year. They had a shot at the end and came up just short. Would rather have lost by 15

How is it possible for a team to drive over and over like Kentucky and not get one Offensive Charge? Kentucky had 0 turnovers in the 2nd half.

0 in a half

Great Game by Badgers, they had a number of hesitant possessions in the 2nd half that came up empty. A number of passes weren't made to players w/o the ball driving to the basket.

Brust stole that ball, instead 2FTs by Randle to tie game at 69.

Miss that FT, Kentucky is guarded on the 3, and more than likely Kentucky may have gone the quick 2, foul route and then had the 5secs WI had to make that 3 instead....as Calipari said in the end, if Martin makes that FT its a different game.

All in all, though, man Kentucky has some Men on that Court and our Boys stood up to them and did more than enough to win. Wisconsin should finish in the top 3 in rankings in the AP when its all said and done.

I mean a dude hit a 26 footer. If you told me that UK would have to shoot from 26 feet in order to win I'd have been very happy with that. As they say in The Big Lebowski "Sometimes the bar eats you."

The thing with me on the final KY three is that Gasser gave that to him. I know it was deep and not a great shooter (and that says nothing about the fact that the ball hit the back of the rim first and amazingly still went in), but in that situation. Clock running down, up 2, Gasser needed to be right on top of him. At least a foot closer. if he goes by you and drives to score, so be it, the game is still tied. He sagged off and Harrison made him pay. Frustrating because he hadn't hit one all game, it was deep and it touched every part of the rim and still went in. Literally a centimeter further and that's a brick, and likely game over.

And Jackson's shot was about an inch to half an inch off. I still think the KY player hit his elbow. He lost it on the way up and the KY player put his arms up as if to say "I didn't touch him". Hard to believe you miss one FT all game and it costs you a chance at a national title.

This one is going to sting for a long, long time. The team is mainly back next year, but it's just so so hard to get here and to have it that close and taken away...

:(
