Looks like a busy transaction weekend will continue, certainly we'll hear about multiple Nashville moves this afternoon.

Those moves were OF Kevin Mattison to the DL (always the 7-day DL in the minors), and C Robinzon Diaz to Huntsville.

Because of the Figaro-Bianchi swap Saturday, the Sounds didn't have to make a 2nd move after all, which allowed OF Kevin Mattison to avoid one of those phantom DL stints (and hit a three-run pinch-hit triple Saturday night).

However, Nashville will need to drop someone once Figaro formally reports back to the team.

RHP Kyle Heckathorn goes on the 7-day DL in what very well may be a stash/rest placement, although we can't say definitively. We're all day-to-day, right?

From the Manatees:

The 40-man roster option of RHP Kevin Shackelford is transferred from Brevard County to Huntsville.

LHP Trevor Seidenberger transferred from Wisconsin to Brevard County. Seidenberger will be active for tonight's game in Daytona.

Brevard County's roster remains at 24 active players, one below the Florida State League limit, with no players on the disabled list.

Also, former 40-man roster RHP Jose De La Torre has been transferred from Huntsville to Nashville, where RHP Dustin Molleken has been placed on the DL (no word yet on the nature or severity of Molleken's injury).

First baseman Matt Clark, who recently opted out of his minor league deal with the Mets, tweets that he has signed a new minor league deal with the Brewers (hat tip: Adam Rubin of ESPN New York on Twitter). Clark hit .297/.380/.498 with 10 homers for Double-A Binghamton this season, one year after he posted a .785 OPS and hit 25 bombs for the Chunici Dragons of Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball.

Hat tip, Eugene! Thanks!

Here's the Adam Rubin tweet, and then that of Clark himself. Clark indicates he's Nashville-bound in the subsequent twitter conversation.

At 6'5", 230, the 27-year-old LH bat has played a bit of corner outfield, but has primarily played first base. The Sounds seem pretty set in those positions, makes one wonder if the Brewers may be considering moving someone for international cap space slots, as indicated here.

As per Baseball Reference, Clark has never posted an OPS below .824.

From ESPN, June 26th:

"First baseman Matt Clark asked for and was granted his release by the organization from Double-A Binghamton. Clark, 27, signed with the Mets late in the offseason after slugging 25 homers in Japan in 2013. He was hitting .297 with 10 homers and a team-high 46 RBIs with the B-Mets, but was poised to lose playing time with younger players the priority."

Fun fact: Clark is dating the Astros' sideline reporter.

Selected by the Padres in the 12th round of the 2008 draft, Clark has hit for power at every level, averaging 24 home runs and 90 RBI over his last four full seasons before his 2013 season in Japan.

Look at how he compares statistically to Hunter Morris - Clark is two years older.

Via our 40-man roster tracker extraordinaire on the Major League Forum --

logan schafer recalled; elian herrera optioned. schafer was in the minors long enough to burn an option. he will enter 2015 spring training with one option remaining.

We'll find that missing shift key for djoctagone one of these days :).

From Dustin Daniel in Helena:

Dustin DeMuth was promoted to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers today after returning home from a two-game trip to Great Falls. He left Helena as the league-leader in hits (25), 2nd in average (.403) and 4th in OBP (.441).

Upon his promotion DeMuth was also the team leader in total bases, slugging pct. and OPS.

Pleasant surprise as Adam Weisenburger was only sidelined on June 13th, back seemingly early from a broken index finger on his throwing hand.

From MLBTradeRumors.com last week --

"The Brewers won’t announce their signing of Dominican shortstop Gilbert Lara yet due to the fact that they’re expecting a change to their international bonus pool, reports Dionisio Soldevila of ESPN Deportes (Twitter link). Teams can acquire additional bonus money as long as they’ve yet to exceed their bonus pool, so it appears they’ll try to land some additional slots before making the Lara deal official. The two sides reportedly agreed to terms on a $3.2MM signing bonus yesterday, but the team has made no statement. Milwaukee has a bonus pool just north of $2.6MM, per Baseball America."

And this today from @BrewersPD:

RHP Rodolfo Fernandez has been traded to Oakland in exchange for International Signing Bonus Slot #57 ($339,000)

The original Post-Crescent link is gone, but here's an excellent article on Fernandez written by Tim Froberg.

Always thought the Brewers should have pushed the 24-year-old harder, as he was stuck in a middle relief role again with the Rattlers in 2014, though a spring injury (unknown nature) may have complicated things.

That's a pretty nice chunk of change, although we never did learn Fernandez' Brewers signing bonus.

Also via the Brewers Player Development Twitter account:

Luke Curtis has been promoted from Helena to replace Fernandez on the Wisconsin roster

Curtis, 22, the Brewers 18th round draft pick in June out of the University of Pittsburgh, had made five relief appearances for Helena (see stat line link above).

Quick question: I am sure this has been covered, and I am sorry for forgetting it, is there any word/updates on Nick Bucci?

At the time of his release back in January, Tom Haudricourt reported that Bucci wanted to head to school. He is not playing professional baseball at this time, career likely over.

Via the Sounds --

HAND TO T.I.L; MOLLEKEN ACTIVATED: Reliever Donovan Hand has been placed on the temporary inactive list to accompany his wife, Haley, for the birth of their first child. Filling the spot left by Hand will be Dustin Molleken (back spasms), activated from the disabled list.

Not even 21 years old yet, but what a miserable lost year for catcher Dustin Houle, the youngster from up north had been trying to overcome fractures on his hand since spring, and now he tweets that he'll need to undergo Tommy John surgery. A super strong defender, Houle was looking to emerge offensively as well in 2014.

Best wishes, see you in the spring, sir...
