Tuesday's action:

 

Nashville & Salt Lake played to a scoreless tie. Caleb Gindl & Sean Halton had 2 hits each. Johnny Hellweg 5 IP, 2 H, 2 BB, 4 SO. Donovan Hand 2 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 2 SO.

 

Huntsville routed Arkansas, 8-2. Taylor Jungmann 5 IP, 2 H, 0 R/BB, 2 SO. Greg Hopkins, Kentrail Davis, T.J. Mittelstaedt w/2 hits apiece. Mitch Haniger knocked in 2 runs.

 

Brevard County doubled up Inland Empire, 4-2. Cameron Garfield stayed hot, 3x3, R, RBI, 2 2B. Tyrone Taylor 2x5, R. Tyler Wagner 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 SO.

 

Wisconsin slipped by Burlington, 3-2. Chris McFarland's solid spring continues - 3x4, R, 2 RBI, 3B. Anthony Banda 4 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 3 SO.

How can you swing as much as you wish while still not being able to complete long hard throws? How does one's swing not aggravate the injury?

This is how an injury lingers all season, or becomes another more serious injury. Baseball does not lend itself to playing hurt, there's just too much extreme (end range) twisting and torquing involved. Every athlete wants to compete, or at least we hope they do, so they need to be protected from themselves from time to time and sat down whether they like it or not.

Huntsville beat Tulsa, 6-3. Kentrail Davis 2x3, 2 R, 3 RBI. Brooks Hall 5 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 0 BB, 4 SO. LHP Brent Suter 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R/BB, 2 SO.

 

Brevard County 8-5 win over Modesto. Tyrone Taylor 3x4, R, RBI. Cameron Garfield 1x3, 3 RBI. Damien Magnifico 4 IP, 3 H, 0 R/BB, 3 SO. LHP Stephen Peterson 2 scoreless frames, 1 SO

 

Wisconsin thumped Asheville 12-3. Omar Garcia 3x3, 3 R, 2B. Taylor Brennan 3x4, 2 R, 2 RBI. Stephen Halcomb 3x5, 3B, R, 2 RBI. Francisco Castillo homered. Victor Diaz 3 scoreless

Nashville dropped a 5-4 contest to Albuquerque. Sean Halton hit a 3-run HR. Donovan Hand (two innings), Michael Blazek, and Rob Wooten had perfect appearances in relief.

Eugenio Velez drove in the other Nashville run with a sacrifice fly.

 

Right-hander Hiram Burgos made the start and took the loss for Nashville, allowing five runs (three ER) on seven hits in five innings of work (63 pitches).

Chattanooga blanked Huntsville, 3-0. Shawn Zarraga had two of the Stars four hits. Drew Gagnon 5 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 5 SO.

 

Brevard County routed Rancho Cucamonga, 9-1. Tyrone Taylor 4x5, R. Garrett Cooper 2x3, R, 3 RBI, HR. Orlando Arcia 2x4, 2 R, RBI. RHP's Austin Ross, Martin Viramontes, and Tanner Poppe all had scoreless appearances.
