NES & Tecmo Super Bowl

RobDeer 45

Okay, I just wanted to say that I hooked up my NES for the first time in quite awhile and threw in good old Tecmo Super Bowl the other night. It amazes me that, to this day, this game is still so addictive. If I could only hook up my Nintendo to the internet and play my friends!!!

I was really big in to video games, up until a few years ago. I just don't have the time for the new stuff. It takes a lot more time to play a game. I love that you can play a Nintendo game and be satisfied after 20 minutes.

Anyway, thought I'd start a thread for some Tecmo talk and could also be used for NES talk in general.

Drew Hill, WR, HOU.....amazing.

Favorite Team - NYG

Second Team - PHI

Sleeper Bad Team - TB

Not sure where I put Houston, but they are filthy on O.

You'd almost have to tell yourself not to play nose tackle or in many cases the opposing team wouldn't get a play off. Bob Nelson was a beast for the Packers!

Was it the 30 for 30 on Bo Jackson that mentioned he (Bo) was so dominant in the game that the makers only designed one play for him?

I have to dig mine out this weekend.

When ever my best friend and I get together there must be 3 game battle of Tecmo Super Bowl. And as others have noted, the immortal Bob Nelson is off limits. In head to head, the plays that a team has is almost as important as the talent.

As a side note, some kids that at my place of employment play a current version of Tecmo on line. I've never checked it out, but they say it's set up with current players.

Yes. I still play it on my top loader. Tampa is my favorite team to use because they aren't very good outside of Haddix. Vinny can run a little bit and there are a few plays that you can throw to Carrier where he jumps every time. I've played the online version and even played against two guys who took 2nd and 3rd in the huge tecmo tournament in Madison.

Nothing beats completely dominating an offense with David Fulcher alone. The Bills are still my team though.

Tecmo Super Bowl leagues are still pretty popular online. There are several sites dedicated to hacking the game to get updated rosters or for other various reasons.

The largest Tecmo Super Bowl tournament is also held in Madison. I usually go every year, but this year it was filled up too quickly.

Yea, I have a few friends that entered into it for years. I lost touch with them however and havent heard if they still do it. The competition is always fierce.

As far as online, I played in one and you needed a controller in order to be competitive.
