Initials for cusses

Completely unrelated but does anyone else find it weird that things like bull you know what and son of a you know what are deleted but then in the edit it says the part that was deleted? Kind of funny to me. :)

trwi7 is talking about a couple of posts where the moderator's edit notation says something like this:

Last edited by 1992casey on January 26, 2014, 4:27 PM, edited 1 time in total.

Reason: language (removed "BS")

The idea is to communicate the rules. People generally know about regular cusses, so there's probably little need to note which cuss has been edited in those situations. But posters tend to forget about acronyms where one of the letters stands for a cuss. It makes sense to be a little more clear about why the message has been edited.

This is the snippet from the language section of Fan Forum Etiquette Forum Etiquette that people tend to forget:

  • Do not use acronyms, abbreviations or creative spelling to avoid the cuss filter. This includes replacing letters in cuss words with characters or spaces. As an example, the use of "BS" is not allowed when intended to stand for a cuss word ("what a load of BS"), but is allowed when intended to stand for non-cusses (Ben Sheets, blown save, bachelor of science, etc.).

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.
