zach duke can declare free agency if he's not assured a spot on the 25-man roster by 26 march. he could accept an assignment to aaa-nashville, but the brewers would have to pay him an additional $100,000, and he'd have an opt-out date of 1 june.

According to Haurdricourt, Wooten has been optioned and Duke has made the club.

I feel bad for Wooten. The guy does nothing but pitch solid ball - minors, majors, spring training.

wooten's time will come. it should be noted that this is wooten's first time being optioned to the minor leagues. granted, the same thing could happen to him again in 2015 and 2016 (staying on the roster for the majority of spring training but then being optioned).
