I can't help you with the hotel issue, but the first day of single-ticket sales is usually the last Saturday in February. If the pattern holds for this year, that would be the 22nd. The Brewers will announce the exact date in the next few weeks.

As for a hotel, a nice new option (albeit not until Fall 2014) is going to be the Potowatami Bingo and Casino Hotel that is currently under construction.

As for current rooms I have heard that the Radisson mentioned by Fleehaw and the Crowne Plaza on Hwy 100 & Watertown are nice.

I was told by a member of the Brewers ticket staff that the Arctic Tailgate is March 1, and single seats will be on sale then.

I was thinking of March 1 as the other option for the Arctic Tailgate. I wasn't sure the Brewers would want to start something "arctic" in March, but at the rate 2014 is going, it'll probably still be plenty cold then anyway.

There are just simply no hotels near the stadium. You can stay downtown (closer but more expensive). Options are Radisson, Hilton, and a few others. Or you can stay out in the subarbs like Brookfield, where there are a ton of hotels, but it's a tad further away. Are you planning anything else on this trip? Might make it easier to pick out a location to stay.

Since I moved to Madison I didn't hear about the hotel, that will be nice to have a hotel near the park and I imagine they would have shuttles as well. I would maybe even walk from the hotel if it was nice out.

Actually there are a few cheaper ones close to the stadium, such as a Best Western Woods View Inn right on National. The Ambassador Hotel is about 1.5 miles away, and has pretty reasonable rates. An interesting choice is also Iron Horse Hotel (2.7 miles), which is one of the finer hotels in Milwaukee. Very nice bar and restaurant. The Brewhouse Inn is also a very unique, upscale place with big rooms. It all depends what kind of experience you want to have. I would recommend for those who want the city experience to try places the the Astor Hotel, Hotel Metro, Knickerbocker or County Claire Irish Inn. The ALoft is also very new and convenient to downtown.

Not a great hotel or anything, but if you have kids like mine that don't want to go to a waterpark type hotel, they would rather go to a hotel that has a bigger, deeper pool, we have found that the Best Western Airport fits that bill.

For food downtown, there are a TON of good burger places. My two favorites are Sobelman's and Stacked. There's a ton of others though, what type of food are you looking for? Anything in particular?

As far as the stadium, you're probably about 10 minutes away, depending on traffic.

Cool thanks Trwi for the advice great to here we won't be to far from the stadium.

hope to meet some of the forum guys

Who knows? You might even meet some of the forum women. ;)

brewmann04, if you feel comfortable sharing your seat locations once they are established, we can stash them in a forum that members can see without their being all over the internets. Think about that between now and March.

  • 2 weeks later...
STH Opening Day order forms are do 2/7. STH presale of tickets are from 2/18-2/20. I'd expect the tickets to go on sale to the public around 2/22.

Burgers are cool maybe steak? Thanks

The two places that come to mind when I hear steak and downtown are:

If you like or haven't been to a Brazilian Steak house this is a must in my opinion. It is only $35? ish per person. Brazilian steak houses are all you can eat. For the meat servers walk around with these big skewers and cut slices of meat off for you.

Or

Obviously the prime rib is amazing. Depending on what you get, you could get to the $50 a person range.
