Bray Wyatt is probably #1. His character is the most interesting one I have seen in many years debut in the WWE. Sandow is probably only around because he is good on the mic and is willing to make an idiot of himself every monday.

The Vaudevillians were great (the one handed pushups Gotch was doing on Dawkins were hilarious), but I worry that their gimmick is one of those that works great on NXT in the small arena, but won't translate well to the big arenas Raw/Smackdown are recorded in, much like Adam Rose. (Actually, the guy who does the Simon Gotch character was in Rose's entourage dressed up sort of like Waldo.)

Even with Mojo Rawley, NXT is still the best wrestling week in and week out on TV, and the only show I go out of my way to watch.

I agree. There is no way it would work on raw or smackdown and it is the best hour or 2 of wrestling each week.

I knew Gotch looked familiar but I couldn't figure out why, but that is right he was the where's waldo guy.

predictions for Money in the Bank on sunday:

1) wwe championship ladder match - Cena

2) briefcase winner - i'm sure it will either be Ambrose or Rollins, I'm going to go with Rollins here

3) Tag Team title match - Wyatt family over the Uso's

4) Paige vs Naomi - Paige retains

1) wwe championship ladder match - There has been a lot of talk about the leaked Summerslam poster featuring Cena and Lesnar facing off. There are rumors that the finish has been changed and Cena will not be winning. I think they want the title on Cena going into Summerslam so Orton and Wyatt would make sense. Cesaro still isn't there. After all that, I still think that Cena wins.

2) briefcase winner - Ambrose and Rollins are the only two who make sense. Im also going with Rollins. He needs the rub. I expect his feud with Ambrose will take another step forward during the match.

3) Tag Team title match - Usos retain.

4) Paige vs Naomi - Paige wins.

i agree that after the leaked posters, i think orton takes the belt tonight. i could see this means ambrose wins instead of giving the title shot to a heel unless they still plan on giving cena the title before summerslam.

the 2 MITB matches were very good as well as the uso- wyatt match. The rest left a lot to be desired. The problem is that when you have all of your heavy hitters in 2 matches, the other 2 hours will be pretty weak since the mid card wrestlers are weak these days.

I agree, the two ladder matches were great, as usual, and the Uso-Wyatt match was fantastic. Luke Harper/Brodie Lee is an amazing talent, and I'm curious to see if and how they decide to push him when he transitions to being singles competitor.

The rest of the PPV was middling to terrible. The Divas title match was good, except that for going on 3-4 years now, WWE has given no reason for us to care about the women's division. Watching NXT (case in point the Natty/Charlotte match from Takeover) and the effect Sara del Ray has had down there gives me hope for the future, but early returns on Emma and Paige have left something to be desired.

I sort of like the Goldust and Stardust team, as Cody seems to really get into whatever role creative has for him in a particular month, but their match with RybAxel was completely forgettable. Mostly because of RybAxel. Matching red hats?

Rusev and Big E worked hard, but no one seems to care about hating on Russia, and even E's big dive through the ropes doesn't pop the crowd like it did the first few times. I can't believe they're wasting Big E like they are. Let him go back to doing his 5-count gimmick that was so effective in NXT.

The Fandango/diva match was embarassing, though the "Fandango loves triangles" thing was pretty funny. The former Johnny Curtis gets into his role, at least.

Well RAW was pretty good if you ask me.

Spoilers to come if you haven't watched yet.

Between the return of Jericho, Miz and AJ. Made the whole show worth watching. Looking forward to see where they go with Jericho and Bray Wyatt from here. Sucks for BNB to have to vacant the IC Title, but Battle Royal should be good. Battleground shaping up to be a good one thus far.

  • 1 month later...

Summerslam is going to be very interesting on Sunday. With the lower than expected numbers of the wwe network and the need to get the initial subsciptions renewed (i'm considering canceling mine, after WWE announced you can go month to month for 12.99 and I can only get the pay per views I want, instead of making a 6 month commitment), I would expect some surprises and big story line turns to get people excited.

I'll predict:

Lesnar over Cena

Wyatt over Jericho

Brie over Stephanie (interference from Vince, Kane??)

Rusev over swagger

Paige over AJ

Reins over Orton

Miz over DOlph

Ambrose over Rollins

Overall this card is stacked and will easily be the best PPV of 2014 IMHO.

The heel turn was quite obvious I thought. I'm just sick of the Authority stuff. It's not that I hate them, I just feel that it's boring and it's gone on long enough. It's basically been the same crap for over a year now. It's boring.

The rest of it was OK. Glad to see Ziggler get some gold again - guy is fantastic but just can't get the push again. Lesnar just flat out dominated Cena. I found that odd. I thought he'd win but he just pummeled him (my memory could be wrong but didn't Cena beat Lesnar in a no DQ match last year??). Now he can't even give him a match? Seemed on. Not sure what the plan is for either. I'd heard Bryan vs Lesnar, but you can never really tell what they are doing. The most obvious to me would have been Roman Reigns....but he lost to Orton so....

I agree, this is just a rehash of the WWE back in the attitude era with Vince. After a while you get sick of the face getting smothered by 3 or more people. Nikki turning heel long with the AJ vs Paige fued has breathed some life in the divas division, the problem is that is all that's exists/

The Bella Twins story line may be the least interesting one in years (due to an unbelievable reason for Nikki turning and Brie's awful acting (not that Nikki is much better), but I am shocked that they aren't fighting at Night Of Champions. I think having AJ - Paige and the Bella Twins wrestle at the PPV would bring the most bang for the WWE's buck, but looks like that is not in the cards.

Night of Champions Tonight, looses a little luster with Roman Reigns out for 4-6 weeks with a hernia. Was looking forward to him facing Rollins. I wonder if there will be a filler to fill the time or will matches just be extended.

Prediction time

Cena beats Lesnar, Rollins cashes his breifcase

Cesaro beats Sheamus

The Miz beats Dolph

Aj beats Nikki / Paige with some help from Brie

Mark Henry beats Rusov, match will not end clean though

Uso beats Gold / Stardust

Orton beats Jericho

Prince Devitt debuted at the NXT tapings last night as KENTA's tag team partner.

Wait, no.

Finn Balor debuted at the NXT tapings last night as Hideo Itami's tag team partner.

Anyway, they gave Devitt the same treatment as KENTA, as he was introduced by his indie name, which then changed into his new WWE name. I think that's a nice touch as it's getting harder for WWE to hide the fact that they are plucking well-known guys from the indie circuit. I imagine that this will happen to Steen as well.

And no body paint for Devitt, yet.
