Punk is a large part of their merchandise revenue though. I am sure Vince isn't happy he is gone. I know Bryan is way over and is probably even more popular than where Punk was 2 years ago.

It is true though that the kiddos are still buying their cena stuff, but I still believe WWE rating were never higher in recent memory then at Punk's pipebomb, and they do have a network to sell.

They were immediately after but didn't they decline pretty quickly after which was part of the reason Punk was de-emphasized?

Apparently, WWE has unfollowed Punk on Twitter now. Take that for what it's worth.

They also changed their relationship status with Punk on Facebook to "It's Complicated." :)

Thom that made me laugh for a while.

Anyone here still watching ROH? I tuned in for a bit last night (got bored of the Olympics), and was impressed that they now are using HD cameras (of course, they used to have those when they were on HDNet). Wrestling seemed decent enough. Saw a tag match with Jimmy Jacobs and his partner (sorry, forget his name) against two younger guys. Good stuff.

Jimmy Jacobs and BJ Whitmer took on ACH & TD Thomas. ACH and TD are two of my favorite wrestlers right now. ROH is the only wrestling show that I DVR on a weekly basis. You have to give it to ROH. During the past 10 years, so many of their main stars have gone on to sign for both WWE and TNA, yet they continue to find new talent like Michael Elgin and Adam Cole.

I had to work the last two times that ROH was in Milwaukee, but I'm off for their show on March 7th. I'll definitely be there.

I also got it yesterday. Tried it out a bit last night and this morning. I could access things to stream, but I did find that it would pause/freeze from time to time. Enough so that it became annoying. Most times it would only be a second or two, but some other times it would be for up to a minute. Also fast forwarding was a problem.

Not sure if it's my internet connection or if it's a problem on their end. Hopefully it's just a matter of them working the kinks out.

I've been in and out of keeping up with WWE and just skimming through Raw on DVR and reading dirt sheets but is it just me or has the WWE turned heel? I don't mean "The Authority," but the whole company. The fans are rabid for Daniel Bryan to be champ, but the company refuses to give it to him. The crowd at the Royal Rumble was going crazy anticipating Bryan at #30 and then booed the heck out of Rey Mysterio. The crowd was behind Reigns (a heel) at the end of the Rumble and then booed Batista (a face) when he won. Cena has always had a mixed reaction but it seems like it is very much more on the negative side now. Crowds are chanting for CM Punk during other guy's matches.

It's all quite surreal. The crowds have been quite hot and vocal recently but it's because they don't like what's going on. It's so weird and awesome at the same time.

I don't know what is going on with WWE anymore either. Batista has turned heel so basically the main event of wrestlemania is a heel vs heel match that noone wants to see. Batista can't get through a match without being winded and he seems to be the person vince is putting his stock in while Bryan is the people's champ.

The issues with the WWE Network seem to have been ironed out and it is AWESOME. I love watching these old WCW pay per views that I grew up on. The Sting/Vader matches still hold up today. They would just beat the living tar out of each other.

I really don't know what the WWE is thinking reference WrestleMania. I am quite disinterested. The only match that appeals to me is Brock vs Undertaker. I can't believe they actually went with Randy Orton and Batista as their main event. WWE knows how over Daniel Bryan has gotten, but the creative team is completely ignoring what the paying audience wants to see. On the other hand, I guess Batista vs Randy Orton will be entertaining solely because of the train wreck it is going to be. They are going to get booed and jeered like no other match before.

I don't watch at this point and haven't for years, though I find these threads oddly appealing to read. Given the level of pushback about Bryan maybe they are setting up for an epic switch around. At this point no one is expecting them to do anything different and give Bryan his shot. He could suddenly force the issue as the next Stone Cold...

I like how people think that WWE cares about how the crowd reacts. They couldn't care less. If they did, then there would be plenty of change already. They don't listen to their fans. I mean sure, they probably don't want CM Punk chants the entire show, but in the end do they really care? No. They'll stick with what they've had planned all along. Chanting CM Punk or Daniel Bryan really makes no difference. The only thing that would make a difference is if everyone stops watching and going to events completely. The fact is that no matter how the crowd is reacting, they all bought tickets, and that's all that matters to WWE. No one is actually making any kind of a statement. If you don't like what's going on, then don't go. It's as simple as that.

Yeah I am pretty sure they care how fans react, this is professional wrestling. The guys that get the most reaction will usually get the bigger push and if you get no reaction then down the card you go. This is how Vince works, he is stubborn but cares about money even more.

I don't know a whole lot about wrestling but my brother does a lot of smaller shows around Wisconsin. He usually gets the main event matches against former wrestlers/old ones. In a few weeks he is wrestling Jake the Snake in fond du Lac if anyone goes.

Then explain why a guy like Dolph Ziggler got buried? There are plenty more examples, but the fans have always been behind him and they buried him. Vince and HHH push who THEY think deserves a push, and bury who THEY want to bury. They don't care who the crowd wants pushed. Sure, there are certain cases where they listen to the audience, but really they just go by whatever the hell they want. The crowd loves Daniel Bryan and CM Punk, but Vince doesn't think they can draw so he pushes someone else. Guys like Cena, who the majority of people hate draw money. They go by who they think will draw, and make knee jerk reactions based of small sample sizes. If they really gave certain guys a shot they would be able to draw. Like with Bryan, he's never given him a legit chance to be the headliner. I think it's headed there, but it's taken way longer than it should have.

So apparently Punk and WWE have patched everything up and he will be back on Raw tomorrow night.

Sometimes the internet is wrong. I was really hoping for Bad News Barrett to come out after Punk's music played. Would've been an epic troll job. "Oh, you were expecting CM Punk? Well, I'm afraid I've got some bad news!" Would've been hilarious. If Punk won't come back for his hometown crowd, then he's not coming back.

I tend to disagree. The fact that they played his music and Heyman came out and talked directly about CM Punk probably means something. Seems odd considering they basically just pretended like he didn't exist after he walked out.

Decent Raw last night I guess. The Bryan/HHH angle is fun to watch, but very predictable and I can't imagine they let Bryan actually win at WM.

The reason they did it was just to acknowledge CM Punk so the chants wouldn't be worse than they actually were. It was only done because the show was in Chicago obviously. It was also a good way for Heyman to turn it around on the fans and get good heat for Lesnar. It didn't mean anything as far as Punk coming back.

Thoughts on WM last night? I thought it was ok, not great. Though I am downright stunned that Lesnar won. I guess I thought it was a foregone conclusion and if they Undertaker was going to lose, that it would be to put over a young superstar of some kind - not to a part timer who is already a pretty big name. I have no idea what the plan is for either of these two going forward, but it just seemed very strange for me.

The Daniel Bryan stuff was ok, but seemed pretty predictable. I do like the push Cesaro will get, now out on his own and with the power slam of the Big Show, should help put him over. Was it me, or was that the stupidest looking trophy ever?

I just felt that while it was ok, they needed more matches. Basically only had about 4 matches, which isn't enough for a 4 hour PPV. None of the other titles were even contested...just seems silly for the biggest PPV of the year. The opening segment was a waste of time, the Shield match was a waste of time and I felt the other matches were kinda dull and dragged on. Also leaves a lot of wrestlers in weird spots from a story perspective. What does Batista do now? Are they going to bury the Wyatts now? What about Cena?

I pretty much agree with everything you said although I enjoyed the opening segment with Hogan, Rock, and Austin. I thought the PPV was just ok. Until Brock won, the Taker match was terrible. Taker really looked his age.

I guess my biggest problem was with the Cena/Wyatt match. What did Cena gain by going over? He pinned Wyatt cleanly and Wyatt did not get a chance to get his heat back.
