Shouldn't be to hard. I have to remove the battery to get at one of mine. Unfortunately it keeps burning out.

Edit: Don't touch the new headlight with your fingers. Use a clean towel or shirt to pick it up.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

It can vary wildly, depending on your vehicle. I've changed out a headlight on my Volkswagen Jetta , and it was extremely easy. When I had a Chrysler Sebring, it was ridiculously difficult to do so and required help from my dad to pry off one of the panels.

I wish I was more knowledgeable about car repairs. I am going to try to replace a burnt out headlight tonight rather than pay an arm and a leg for the dealership to do it. We will see how it goes; Hopefully eHow isn't lying to me.

Every make/model of car is a bit different but if you search on youtube you can usually find an exact video for your car make/model for simple things like swapping out headlights.

I manage an auto repair shop and it's true the difficulty varies depending on the car. Unfortunately my hands and arms are super skinny and I have limp wrists which means it's usually myself who has to replace headlight bulbs. I hate it and half the time it's not even worth what we charge to do it. Some cars you have to remove the front clip (bumper) just to get access to the bulb. I want to punch the engineers who have designed these cars.

It's dealers who design those, to make more money off their wonderful loyal customers.

If you happen to have disposable medical gloves on hand, I think that would be an easy solution.

Headlights have generally gotten a whole lot easier since sealed beams disappeared. It used to be that one could remove the wrong screws by not paying proper attention. One of my friends tried to do me a favor by changing my headlight. He removed the entire housing, and I ended up with a light pointing up toward the sky.

The irony was that I had changed the headlight on that car before, and it was actually very easy if you did it right. The only reason that I didn't do the job myself is that this person happened to offer.

Tonight's Channel 58 news displayed a map that placed Rochester, Minnesota in Iowa, just west of Dubuque.

Back in June, I whined about the info quoted above. I think tonight was worse. The news report was about an incident in Franklin near Oakwood Road. Oakwood Road is a couple of miles from the Racine County line. The map they splattered on the screen showed Mill Road and Silver Spring Drive, which are up on the north end of Milwaukee County.

Well I didn't get around to changing the light last night; some things came up and couldn't get to it. But I did figure out I have to take the mud flap off to get at the light to replace it. So that isn't exactly taking the bumper off or anything but I can't just pop the hood either. Of course the mud flap is caked with ice right now so I will have to chip that off. Because my one car garage doesn't have heat and is mostly filled with kids toys and lawn/garden equipment; I get to do this with a flashlight in the freezing cold tonight, yay!!

Yeah, it's basically halogen bulbs. Most of the halogen bulbs that you use in the house have the lighting element enclosed so you don't have this issue. Besides car headlights, you might find that things like shop lights will use bulbs that shouldn't come into contact with skin.

Just curious, why not?

Residue on the bulb will super heat and implode it.

fondy, I think I'd just opt to have someone else do this. I bet it could be done at the local express lube without an appointment.

Do you think a place like that would use the part I already bought? It only cost me $7 and I am sure it would probably be triple that if the place used their own headlight. I am inclined to just try to do it myself first; if I screw it up I am only out $7. I printed off the instructions from the owners manual so I think I can do it. But I am absolutely not an mechanically inclined person.

Also, this doesn't really bug me as much as just makes me shake my head....the number of people who sit down at a black jack table and not only do not have any clue as to what they are doing

This bothers me a lot. I will always hover at a table before I sit down to see the knowledge level of the players- especially 3rd base. I refuse to sit at a table when the person at 3B has no idea what they're doing. Nothing worse than "that guy" busting instead of the dealer.

My side of the kitchen was kept very neat, though I haven't made as much of an effort the past month since my roommate is a slob. One of the two sinks always full of dishes, her counter always full of dishes, the oven stacked with dishes. However I am expected to maintain a perfect kitchen and pointing out her mess is "none of my business." She noted her annoyance with me using the oven (not all day, mind you, but for stuff like cooking a frozen pizza). I believe she wants the rent money but not a roommate.

It'll be interesting as I'm not on any lease. I will not accept her condition of being perfect while she's a slob and so she'll eventually get mad and may kick me out. Yet she can't afford to turn on the heat in the house (I use a space heater for my room). I think she'll be in for a shock when she can't find another roommate for $300/mo who will accept only two drawers in the kitchen, maintain the kitchen perfectly and just stay in their room without making a peep.

edit: the house often reeks of ammonia because she doesn't change the cat littler often. One cat is very overweight while the other is kept in a small cage (space for litterbox and two smallish places for it to sleep) for what must be 18 hours per day. I'll have to take pictures and call the ASPCA when I'm finally kicked out.

That thought doesn't really bother me at all. The cards are random (especially in a 6 or 8 deck shoe). A person that doesn't know when to hit and not hit is not hurting the table any more than he's helping it (half the time when people take/don't take hits when they shouldn't/should it ends up helping the table...but no one ever notices that). Also, doesn't really matter where they are sitting at the table, it's the same result. My issue is that I just can't believe someone would put money down on a game that they don't know how to play. Even if you know how to play, the odds are against you, not knowing how to play just makes it worse.

Well I managed to replace the headlight; although I needed some help from a friend. Getting the darn mud flap off was really hard; some really tough angles to work with. Of course a lot of the plastic retainers wouldn't work to re-attach the mud flap so I have to go out and buy some soon. But at least I got enough on there that it isn't going anywhere. I would not recommend anyone trying to do this themselves unless you can get to the light from under the hood.

I don't think I know anyone that actually enjoys Maroon 5's music. They just seem to be a "thing" that has been around for like the last decade or so.

That's another thing too. It's not like they are some new, flash in the pan group. They've been around for a while but while their music continues to be terrible they continue to be "popular".
