Colorado ski resorts

I'm going skiing/snowboarding in Colorado with some friends in March, and I'm wondering which resorts/towns people have been to and which ones they like the best. One of my friends is a little tight with the buck, so Vail probably will not be where we stay but we do want to go there one day/night to check it out. Looking for maybe a little older crowd (30s-40s) with decent but not obnoxious nightlife. We're very mediocre skiers/snowboarders so a mountain with good, groomed blues would be preferred. Thanks!
