I like where your head is at Reilly. Love, Actually is one of my faves and a must watch every December.

Billy Mack: "Hiya kids. Here is an important message from your Uncle Bill. Don't buy drugs. Become a pop star, and they give you them for free!"

Role of a lifetime for Bill Nighy.

I’d imagine this varies largely by age, but for a 30-something like myself, it’s Home Alone, The Santa Clause, Christmas Vacation, and Elf. Also, I’d echo the sentiment that, while not a Christmas classic, Jingle All The Way is good for some jollies.

My wife loves Christmas movies, so we'll watch others as well, but - thankfully - not all those Hallmark movies.

Get me started on Hallmark Christmas movies at your peril. The S.O. is hooked on them. He hasn't missed a premiere yet this year (thanks to the DVR, since they air on two separate Hallmark channels).

I get that it's a form of escapism, and if that's his worst habit, I'm in great shape...but man, they are painfully formulaic, to the point where we created a bingo card several years ago for elements in a Hallmark Christmas movie. Single parent. Workaholic. Loved one died on Christmas or Christmas Eve. Let's bake cookies! Current boy/girlfriend is a jerk. Someone's a soldier, firefighter or police officer. Lacey Chabert, Candace Cameron Bure, or the Winnie Cooper actress. And more and more. And this year they revved up the Christmas machine before Halloween.

The brightest side for me is that via some Twitter connections, I learned several years ago that former Brewer Mitch Stetter is in the same boat, only it's his wife who watches all the Hallmark. So we Twitter bonded over that.

In other Christmas movie "news," a few years back we stumbled onto this weird, slightly Christmasy bad movie on the ION network (which I'd never heard of before and I don't know if it's even still available in Madison). The movie was originally called Christmas Twister but also appears as F6 Twister. Some part of Texas sustains a crazy tornado outbreak shortly before Christmas, logical fallacies abound and unintentional hilarity ensues. It edges toward Sharknado ridiculousness without the self-awareness that the Sharknado series has developed.

I found it on DVD for like 5 bucks on Amazon (as F6 Twister) and sprung for it since we had a sneaking feeling it wouldn't be aired regularly. So we watch it once a year for laughs. Here's a representative scene:

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Impressed with some people's favorite Christmas movie selections! My wife and I get in to Christmas movies quite a bit so I watch quite a few. The amount of movies we watch has slowed now that we have two kids, but we try to get a couple in a week.

I love Home Alone, Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation, Love Actually, Family Stone, Four Christmases, It's a Wonderful Life and Elf.

Enjoy quite a bit: Family Man, Gremlins, Mickey's Christmas Carol, White Christmas and Die Hard 1 and 2 (I like the snowy setting in 2 a lot more).

Sleepers: Trapped in Paradise, Scrooged, and Jingle All the Way.
