Jimmy Rollins

TURBO

Maybe trade him for Weeks straight up so he can play 1B...

Buster Olney of ESPN writes that the Phillies are "very willing" to trade Jimmy Rollins.

Rollins is owed $11 million in 2014 and carries an $11 million vesting option for the 2015 season. The 35-year-old batted just .252/.318/.348 across 666 plate appearances in 2013. He'll likely be difficult to move.

I can't wait until we acquire him so he can start at SS and move Segura to 2B.

In all seriousness, this would be one of the worst acquisitions considering:

1. We don't have a hole at SS

2. Rollins is old and has a bad contract

However, this doesn't preclude me from having some fears that Ryan Howard will be acquired at some point in the offseason to man 1B. Lest we forget he has 3 years, $75 million contract with a 4th year team option @ $23 million or a $10 million buyout. Essentially an $85 million commitment for 3 years. I honestly have a fear that DM may be enticed to deal for him if the Phillies offered to pay say $45 million of his deal, leaving the Brewers on the hook for 3 years $40 million.

Back on topic though, just say no to J-Roll.
