7:58am: Sean McAdam of CSNNE.com reports that it's a one-year deal for Pierzynski (via Twitter).

 

7:11am: The Red Sox have agreed to a deal with catcher A.J. Pierzynski, tweets Jon Heyman of CBS Sports. Pierzynski is represented by Steve Hilliard of Octagon. The contract seems to close the door on Jarrod Saltalamacchia, who was acquired by the Sox at the 2010 trade deadline and is now a free agent.
