Milwaukee Bucks Thread 2009–2010 (part 2)

stalton

I watched the OT to Heat and Nets

It was probably the most pathetic thing i ever saw

The Nets and Heat were absolutely tanking like no teams I ever seen before

we're stuck playing Atlanta now because of these jokers

anybody who wants Atlanta over Boston has no idea what they're talking about

we're going to be lucky to win one game

Yep. Atlanta is a horrible match up for the Bucks without Bogut. Too much height, too many guys who will bang down low.

Garnett & Wallace can be handled by a smaller guys as they like to settle for 15 footers and turn arounds. Atlanta's bigs just don't settle like that.

I don't think they have a chance to win a series against either Boston or Atlanta without Bogut, so I was rooting for Atlanta just because of my pure hatred of the Celtics and not wanting to watch us get knocked out of the playoffs by them.

That's true.

But playing Boston would of at least given us exposure. Nobody cares about an Atlanta/Milwaukee series.

We could of saw a fight or something vs Celtics. Now we'll just go pretty quietly vs the Hawks.

Every team last year got at least two playoff games on ESPN, ABC or TNT. We're going to get exposure. And with the way the Bucks play on national TV, you almost hope they only put the games on local TV. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Only one of our two games will be on NBATV (probably Game 2 -- either Monday or Tuesday). Charlotte/Orlando is a mediocre matchup, too, and I expect Chicago/Cleveland to be over in four games, opening up more spots on ESPN/TNT. Right now, my only concern is selling out the playoff games. It might be a tall order if the first game is Thursday and the Cubs are in town for the rest of the weekend.

Edit: Playoffs begin Saturday at 4:30; home games Saturday and Monday nights.

...46-36. Wow. What a neat year. We know there is a bit of a cloud now without Andrew but considering where this team was even two years ago. Been a really fun year to be a fan. Hope they can win one or two against the Hawks.

Pretty nice for a team that was predicted to win less than 30 games by all the experts.

EVERY single prediction I heard or read had the Bucks 2nd last or dead last in the East. And that was assuming Redd would be back, and be their best player. So to win 46 games without Redd, and without Bogut for the stretch run, is really impressive. Skiles is coach of the year, although I'm sure he won't win the award.

i completely disagree about wanting to play the celtics. they would have had no chance against boston/the referees. i am glad nobody cares about the atlanta/milwaukee series because the league wont have much of a rooting interest in one of the teams.

and does atlanta really have that much size??? horford and zaza are no "bigger" than perkins, wallace and KG.

atlanta is a streaky shooting team that dont really play that well as a team. a good defensive series by the bucks gives them a chance...

Redd going down was the key to the season. It allowed Bogut to become the primary option (until Salmons showed up) and the ball movement on offense was a lot better.

I agree, Gobias. They were/are better off without Redd. I'm just pointing out how the "NBA experts" viewed the Bucks before the season began. I'm not exagerating much when I say these experts would have predicted single digit wins for the Bucks if they knew they would be without Redd all year.

Even though they shouldn't have a chance in this series, they've been proving everybody wrong all season. I love the effort these guys bring every night.

I'm very excited to be going to game 3 on Saturday, I hope Milwaukee comes out and supports this team, they really deserve it. If they can steal one of the first 2 in ATL I think it will be a very good series.

It's not their actual height & size, but how they play. Atlanta's guys will bang the bucks and bang the offensive boards. KG & Wallace are much more content to play 15-20 feet from the basket and shoot jumpers.

Horford, Zaza, Smith, Joe Smith, even Marvin Williams is 6'9 240. And the Hawks are much more athletic and just flat out better than the Celtics front line.

So does this mean that I wont be able to watch the Brewers for another week?

There will only be seven games max, only three of them have set schedules right now and only two of them conflict with the Brewers.

Game 5 won't conflict with the Brewers (12:05 game); Game 6 on April 30 will probably run into the start of the Brewers @ Padres game. If we make it to Game 7, it will probably be on ABC on Sunday 5/2, so no confict there.
