Milwaukee Bucks Thread 2009–2010 (part 2)

stalton

Brezec's only real "strength" (besides 3 second violations) is offense, so yeah, I'd agree. Butch would be a slightly taller version of Ilyasova.

I guess its an opportunity to audition backup centers for next year, since we clearly need something different. Thomas is alright, but he's gone after this season. Brezec just isn't what we need, and his contract is up anyway. I just want a big dude who can step in and play defense (and know his limitations offensively, sorry Gadz)...Stiemsma might be just that.

I don't think we're going to find our 4 or backup 5 off the scrap heap.

I'm thinking Ekpe Udoh, Hassan Whiteside, or Greg Monroe in the draft. Hopefully at least one of those guys are there at 11 or wherever we pick.

That was a pretty horrific injury. It seemed to be a freak accident as Amare barely grazed him. It is disappointing because Bogut has been playing really well. The good part about the east is there really aren't too many "true" centers these days so the Bucks may be able to get away with Kurt Thomas and playing small if some of the other guys pick up the slack.

Jackson, nor any other player signed after 3/1 is eligible for the playoffs.

Ersan will see plenty of time at C, and Luke MaM will play more at the 4.

It's a shame, but I'm surprised there is not more disgust at Amare S. I had no problem calling it a dirty play last night, as the push to the lower back might have been just enough to cause the fall...of course, we'll never know. If he would have went for the block, I have no problem with it, but he made no effort to play the ball. What he did will only lead to throwing the shooter off-balance, and that's just what happened. They'd be running that nonstop if Lebron or Kobe had got hurt.

yeah i was all set to get playoff tickets but what really is the point now? Bogut was the one player we couldn't loose. One can only hope we stay in the 6th seed because I still think they can give the hawks or celtics a run for their money.

This is a really tough break for the Bucks. Hopefully they can surprise some people and give whoever they play in round 1 a run for their money. Its going to be interesting to see who steps up to fill in for Bogut, I'm going to expect a lot more out of Kurt Thomas and Ersan. I'm not giving up on the Bucks yet, they have worked far too hard for me to do that. Hopefully the rest of the Bucks fans eventually feel the same way.

It'll be nice to get the younger guys some playoff experience, even if they do go out in the first round.

Next season should be interesting with Redd back (or more specifically his expiring contract available to trade for more help) and a likely top 12-13 pick thanks to the Bulls.

There's a good possibility Redd doesn't see the floor next year. The Bucks won't let him come back too soon while collecting insurance and Redd always tries to come back early and gets hurt again. His contract possibilities will be very interesting indeed.

Per Andrew Bogut on Twitter:

"(Amare) should not take any blame. It was a freak of a thing that happened. Full stop. Amare is a good sport. I have the best support and fans. Thank you all

I will bounce back from this! Please keep supporting us, it's a team game! Go Bucks!

p.s. tweeting with my left hand is almost as painful as my injury ... almost".

I'd be very interested to see what we could get in a trade. Between the huge expiring and possible insurance money, Redd should be incredibly valuable.

Or maybe he'll opt out this summer.

Great win tonight by the Bucks. This was a must win game by the Bulls in Chicago and the Bucks stole it from them. Congrats to the Bucks as a team and franchise on a wonderful accomplishment that most though wasn't possible.

Great win. My daughter who is 9 even watched the game...and she wonderd why Danny G was allowed to play. Abby was amused when "the coach is making him stand in the corner" on offense.
