Milwaukee Bucks Thread 2009–2010 (part 2)

stalton

I hadn't heard anything about Aminu, he would be a pretty big steal at 15.

Has anyone heard anything else about the Bucks making any other trades? Hammond basically said in the paper today that they likely will not keep all of their seconds. Could we possibly group 2 seconds together for a first, then trade the 2 firsts to get in the top 5 or so? Or just keep the two firsts ourselves, is that even a possibility?

I'm hoping one of Hayward, Babbit, or Henry will be available at 15, I think the Bucks need another good outside shooter. I also wouldn't mind if we traded back and got either Larry Sanders or James Anderson w/ a late 1st. Either way, I'm very excited to see how the draft ends up. I think there is a lot of talent in the draft.

My wish list of guys who could be there would be...

1. Paul Geroge - Don't think he will fall this far but I can hope

2. Xavier Henry

3. Luke Babbitt

4. Pattrick Patterson/Daniel Orton

5. Cole Aldrich

6. Gordan Hayward

If Paul George somehow drops to us I would do back flips. But also would love to add Xavier Henry. I don't want anything to do with Cole or Hayward. I also like the idea of trading back into the first round if someone liek Anderson falls. And I would LOVE IT if they traded into the first round and took Crawford.

I don't think a couple 2ns and their 15th pick would be enough to maneuver into the top 5, but it would get them into the top 10. If there's a guy Hammonds really loves that is available around 10-12 I could see him moving up using one or two 2nd round picks. I just hope he keeps at least one 2nd round pick, because I think this draft is deep.

I definitely wouldn't mind Hayward, but I would be very surprised if he's around at 15. From everything I've seen, it sounds like there are at least 3 or 4 teams ahead of the Bucks that love Hayward.

Not Bucks-related, but it does deal with the draft in a way: Portland owner Paul Allen has fired GM Kevin Pritchard one hour before the draft, but is allowing Pritchard to work the draft.

I think it would be funny if he went out and drafted some unknown European stiff just out of spite. Seems like a pretty classless move on Allen's part.

Overall this seems like a relatively weak draft, doesn't it?

With three picks in the 2nd round I hope they take one or two high risk/reward European/foreign players who can take a couple of years to develop overseas, a la Ilyasova. With three picks they don't need three players competing for roster spots right now.

As a recent alum of one of VCU's in-conference rivals, I like the pick. Sanders terrorized the CAA, which is a pretty strong conference as far as mid-majors go. He's definitely a Scott Skiles player -- always 100% on the defensive end, and he'll give the Bucks some much-needed toughness down low.

Taking him at #15 might've been a bit of a reach (I saw him going in the early 20's in a lot of mocks), but I'm also a guy who hated the Jennings pick last year, so I'll just reserve my judgment until the night is over. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Chad Ford from the mother ship had him going to Milwaukee in his last Mock draft today. Here is what he said.

Larry Sanders

Position: PF

Height: 6-11

Weight: 222

Age: 21

School: Va. Commonwealth

Analysis: The Bucks have been eyeing Patterson, Henry and Hayward, but in this version, none of those players is on the board. So the Bucks go with a different need and get a long, athletic forward to help them with shot-blocking and rebounding. Sanders isn't the most polished player, but at 15, he's a good gamble.

The more and more I think about this pick, the more I hate it. Babbit should have been the pick. We need outside shooting.

And the fact that Davis and Patterson were the preceding picks before Haisl..I mean Sanders, makes it hurt even more.

Oh well. Better sign Ray or M miller now.
