Random thoughts that are pointless and too dumb to say anywhere else thread: 2009 (May – Dec.)

Now I wonder if someone (other than Peavey) bought out the turkey brats out of a belief (however erroneous) that pork brats would bring on swine flu.

That's probably a fairly logical reasoning for why there weren't any left, actually.

I don't think people go to Woodman's for a pleasant shopping experience. We go there for most of our groceries because it is considerably cheaper.

Exactly. I can get my groceries (and especially non-food items like Shampoo, Shaving cream, etc) there for 20-40% less than at places like Copps or the Pig. Though I understand your checkout pain, casey. I always make sure I have few enough items to go through the self-checkout lanes.

Midday on a Thursday is not too bad a time to go to Woodman's West in Madison.
We must have missed each other.

I was there too, but that's because I'm one of the owners.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I know I've commented on a lot of threads mentioning the store and retail in general, but I've never "outed" myself as an employee until now (because it's always interesting to read what people are saying.) 21 years and counting...

I didn't know about the turkey brats being out, but I'm going to get after the meat guy because I joked with him last week about people not buying pork anymore.

I saw a lot of 'owners' at Woodman's yesterday, but no one I saw had a burniebrewer name tag. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Actually, most of the shelves that usually contain Turkey Store ground turkey products were empty at midday yesterday. Now I'm really in the mood for a turkey brat.

Hawing--Most of the refrigerated/frozen items are delivered daily, but arrive on the late truck which would possibly explain the Turkey Store outages. However, that entire line of products can be very hit or miss at any time.

I should also tell you that I don't go by "Burnie" at work. This should save you the time you'd spend looking at name tags for "B" names.

The average spoon used to serve oneself at a buffet restaurant has more bacteria than the average toilet seat.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

That is something I was better off not knowing...

I just calculated the Brewers' win-loss record for every game we've attended in Miller Park. Through the end of the 2008 season, the Brewers were 109-83 when we were there - a winning percentage of .567. Not bad.

Their worst record when we were in attendance was in 2003 (7-15). Their best was 2007 (16-7), followed closely by 2008 (23-12).

Our record in the dreadful 2002 season was 10-13, though we still managed to see some major stinkers (like the Shawn Green four homer fest, and the 100th loss).

Most everything contains trace amounts of feces.

except for feces.

Boy, what a contribution! They're right, this is a random thought!

Let's say I store my toothbrush wrapped in a paper towel in a room with no bacterial mist from the toilet. Is it still going to contain trace amounts of feces?

I am constantly spelling Bob Uecker's last name wrong because I play so much Euchre.

You don't have an Adam Wainwright. Easily the best gentlemen in all of sports. You don't have the amount of real good old American men like the Cardinals do. Holliday, Wainwright, Skip, Berkman those 4 guys are incredible people

I just ordered a new coffee roaster. They just called and told me it's back ordered but should get them in on Thursday. That's an extra two whole days of suffering with my old one. Impatience is my middle name.

If you feel that way now wait until your senior year is winding down. You'll walk around campus thinking "I was here for four years? Really?"
I envy you guys. After five years of engeering college, it was "enough of this, get me out of here!"

In my keeper fantasy baseball league we have a minor league roster, if a player on that roster is called up, you have until 20IP or 50 AB before you have to add him to your major league roster or declare him a free agent.

I wonder if there is a way to get updates sent to me via email or rss feed (for free) so I don't have to check my player who I am monitoring, Derek Holland, everyday on baseball reference. Not a big deal as he will soon reach 20 IP I feel and have no place on my roster for him. Then I wait until it happens with another one of my players.
