College Basketball 2009-2010 (part 2)

Agreed Polish06 - these "play-in games" should not be between conference tourney winners, they should be between at-large teams.

The NCAA won't do that though because they would be telling who the last four (or eight) in are, and might open themselves up to legal challenges from schools who didn't make it. That, and the major conference teams bring more fans to the games and thus more money.

Badgers just had a major ruling in their favor by the big ten allowing a kid ( 6 foot 2 guard ) to now come to Wisconsin. Ben Brust out of Illinois. He had committed to Iowa but wanted to leave after Lickliter was fired......Big Ten rules said he couldnt recieve a scholarship for a year.

With this ruling, UW should now sign a pretty good guard to go with this year's class

Thanks for sharing that. Looks like a solid recruit.

I see Marquette just landed a much needed big man. 6'9'' close to 300lbs. It'll be interesting to see what happens because they now have more commitments than available scholarships.

I cannot stand over-recruiting. Hopefully, Marquette already knew a guy was not coming, but if they just did this to squeeze a guy from the current class that not right. This practice was referred to as house-Creaning when Tan Tommy was there.

Marquette needs a big and they got one, so that is good.
