College Basketball 2009-2010 (part 2)

Too bad, the ratings will be absolutely horrible if it ends up Butler vs. West Virginia on Monday night. Probably would be one heck of a game.
I'm burned out on hoops but I might watch just on principle. I'd like to do my bit to shore up the ratings.

Damn, I hate Duke as much as the Cubs (and that's as much as anyone can hate anything), but I think Duke just won the title.

Michigan State just cost me a guaranteed top 5 finish (and over $150) in a 200+ person pool as I had them in the title game.

Stupid Izzo and his 50 point scoring team. Now I feel like the die-hard Badger fans in how much I hate you and your team. What a dull effort.

Please, please, please...go Mountaineers.

DeSean Butler goes down with a horrible knee injury.....ugh......that was pretty sad to see. Its been a tough night for injuries, as Andrew Bogut also went down in an ugly one tonight.

I thought it was pretty cool to see Huggins come to his star's side.

Why doesn't WVU get in these guys faces? They give them room just to walk up to the three point line and shoot. Anyone whose watched Duke play in the last 10 years knows they are going to shoot the three pointer. Get up there. If they drive by you, they drive by you, but that's not their game. Man I hate Duke. I hate Butler too. This is like a bad dream come true.

So its Duke vs Butler in the championship game. A David versus Goliath type of match-up. I'm proud somebody from the Horizon League made it and I hope Butler gives Duke a run for their money.

On a personal note, I just secured first place in the one bracket I did this year with a Duke win over WV.

Is Butler really that much of an underdog? They're ranked #8 in the latest top 25 poll, and have been pretty high throughout the season. The Horizon League seems to be perceived as relatively weak still, even though its teams have always done pretty well in the tournament.

Good game so far, Butler up one. This kid for Matt Howard plays basketball like a spaz. I cant remember watching a player play at this level who appeared to have less of a grasp on the concept 5 fouls per game. The guy looks so out of control half the time he looks like he could get called for a foul just about every time he gets near the ball.

I disagree with Clark Kellogg, I think that foul on Hayward on the breakaway was intentional. The Duke player doesn't really try to grab the ball as much as pull Hayward down with his forearm.

When we attended the UW-Duke game in December, this colossally irritating kid (I'm guessing age 10 or so) sat behind me and yelled like a goofball for Duke all night long. I get rooting for your team, but this was like "I LOVE YOU SINGLER! YEAH!!!" after every basket Singler made - same with Scheyer.

That kid is probably wetting his pants right now.

great great game...however that non call where Zoubek threw the player on floor and it wasn't called kinda altered the game a little. That would have been his 5th foul, putting Butlers player on the line. Instead it wasn't called, he was able to guard the inbound pass, and made Hayward's shot even harder.

Very good game though
