Well the inspection on our house more or less went fine; they might ask for some minor things but nothing that will be too expensive.

We have the inspection on the new house this weekend but I am not expecting any issues. I took a friend in construction through the house when we were first looking and he thought it looked pretty good other than some minor craftsmanship issues. The waiting until closing thing really sucks; we are just ready to move on with our lives. The entire summer has been cleaning our house for showing and open houses and looking at new houses. Really looking forward to settling down before the holidays.

As a tall, lanky, Type 1 diabetic, its been difficult to keep on weight even though I keep my diabetes in check. I started going to the gym 2-3 times a week to bulk up. I'm still working on getting everything under control, but I've started to put on a few pounds of muscle. I'm stoked!

My wife and i welcomed our first child into the world earlier today. 9# 9oz and 22 inches long baby boy. What an emotional ride. Both baby and mom (and me too) are doing fine.

Related to my last "Bugging You" post, I passed the physical/obstacle course of Police Academy on my second and final try.

On my practice run a month ago I did a 5:37 on a 6:00 limit, so for my first 'for-real' attempt last week I started off as fast as I could, got completely winded and did a 6:30. My final attempt a couple days ago I just went at a moderate pace, especially on the stepper (which really gets the heart beating if you race it). I kept my pace down despite being told to go faster. Near the end I glanced up at a classmate, who'd promised to give me a head's up when I got to the 5:00 mark. He gave me a "not even close" look, and I ran the thing in 4:53. Yay!!!

Friday is the cumulative test we take on the computer. Certainly a a few things I don't know that well, but all in all I'm pretty confident I'll do well.

Congrats!!! Nice job!

It's amazing how finding the right pace can completely change how effective you can be when doing something for endurance (something I've learned very well hiking)

I am glad no one has mentioned Star Wars or spoiled it. I see there is a thread started and I hope everyone keeps the Star Wars talk there. I still have 43 and a half hours before I see it.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

I'm not able to see it until Dec. 30th so I second logan82's sentiment.

I haven't been on Facebook for 3 days, too. The temptation for some people to ruin things is just too great for me to risk.

Purchased 5 Powerball lines today. Got home, looked at the numbers and 13 was the powerball number on 3 of the 5 lines. Was not happy about that until I just found out that the powerball actually ended up being 13!. On one of the lines with 13 we also matched 3 of the numbers. So we won $100 (plus $4 each for the other two powerball matches). So, I guess that's not bugging me. However, on the line where we won $100 our numbers were 18,19,32,34,55 the winning numbers were 16,19,32,34,57. So close to winning it all (or even $80K if we would have matched one other number)!

Think I could get MA to sell me the team if I win the $1.3 Billion on Wednesday? Even the lump sum after taxes has got to be around $500 Million. That should be enough to get it done right?

Sadly the Brewers are worth near $900mil. Add to the fact the value is only booming you would probably have to pony up well over $1bil to buy the team. That is if MLB would even approve you to run a team.

I know you weren't serious, but if the jackpot keeps growing maybe it will mean something.

Maybe not the Brewers, but you could buy some ownership in the Packers ;)

I would see if he needed an investor for sure. What an awesome way to use some of your my winnings.

I've lived away from Wisconsin for several years (Atlanta, Chicago, soon Minneapolis) and this site - even the Off Topic forum specifically - is an important part of how I stay in touch with my home state. I appreciate it being here.
