Did you know he doesn't really look that much like Commissioner Landis? ;)

Sorry, I just wasn't feeling like myself that day. Next time I'll wear a heavy wool suit to the game and scowl more.

I would imagine that those two go hand in hand.

This suit doesn't even look that heavy. Maybe the judge wasn't hugged enough as a baby.

I agree with him 100%. A bunch of people of roughly the same economic status paying for each other drinks at Starbucks....what's the point? I think the pay-it-forward concept is that if someone does a good deed for you that you should seek out someone who may need your help and pass along the favor, not hey, lets pay for each other's coffee for no reason.

I dont like doing the pay for the person behind you thing. I have however done similar things. One year while tailgating I overheard a kid ask his dad for nachos and a hotdog. I began talking with the dad about the Brewers and told him I'd like to buy his son nachos and gave the dad 10$. I've also given our first level seats to a mother and son who were in the nosebleeds. I just stood for the game which is what I prefer most often anyways. I would never do something like that and expect everyone behind me to do the same, but in hopes that they would reach out in another way for someone else.

When my wife and I first met, her only sports interest was the Packers because and only because she was raised in Green Bay. Now, after only two years of being together, she hates Joe Buck, Ron Roenicke, and the St. Louis Cardinals and gets mad when Aaron Rodgers throws TD's because he is on the fantasy team she is playing.

I know there's a TV thread floating around somewhere but I couldn't find it.

While it may not have been the best, this season of South Park was by far my favorite. Each episode built off of the last and carried through all the way to the end. It wasn't just a bunch of non-sequiturs and political satires thrown together.

My daughters get to wake up in the morning at home, with no one else in the house, for Christmas morning. My 3 year old is so excited. We do get to travel tomorrow, but I'm fine with it considering that I get to experience this as a parent for the first time.

This is going to be the first time I've woken up in my own home on Christmas morning since 2001 or 2002 (I can't remember if I went up with my wife when we were engaged, but we were married by the following Christmas in 2003). I'm rather happy about it. I know it is a change for my wife, but it was time for a new tradition.

Wow, I checked out the dot org website for the trail. There's some rugged territory in there. I've got some old Ansel Adams books somewhere. It'd be interesting to compare some shots along the way. I assume you're going to carry a pack? Have you done much of that type of hiking?

Myself, biking the John Muir Trail bike trail in the Kettle Moraine would be pretty challenging.

I've decided to hike the 220 mile John Muir trail in 2015 over 3 weeks.

I am thoroughly excited.

Awesome!!! I have a few friends who thru-hiked the Pacific Crest Trail, and they said that John Muir was by far the best section of the whole thing. It's easily one of the prettiest hiking trails in the US, if not North America. You're going to have such an awesome trip.

Have you done much long-distance hiking before? Have you purchased all your gear yet? I don't want to stick my nose where it doesn't belong, but I've done a good amount of long-distance hiking myself, and I'd be happy to talk with you about gear selection and whatnot.

I've done a few 4 day weekends before, covering 40ish miles with a full pack, and done 4 days in the Rockies with huge elevation changes (but shorter mileage days).

I've got most of my gear already (I could go out backpacking tomorrow if I wanted) but I plan to lower my weight and cut out a bunch of gear before I go.

I also plan on a few weekends of longer backpacking this summer to be sure I'm ready (along with a general fitness regimen).

Any tips or advice is always welcome, I am an over-preparer, so while I'm not working today, I'm plotting elevation changes and possible mileages on the trail.

I know you were stating that tongue-in-cheek...but classless? Not sure even the St. Louis fans would say that was classless. It was the umps that told him to go back to Home Plate. I think it was just natural to do the "faux" swing of the bat (if that is what you are referring to?). It seemed like he was just confused as to why he had to go back to home plate and just re-enacted the swing to make sure he was following all the requirements. I think most fans, even in St. Louis, understood his actions.

Yes, my classless comment was in reference to the swing of the phantom bat. I thought it was hilarious but the chorus of boos from the Cardinal faithful show they thought differently.

Also, that was indeed Kyle Lohse. But I think what we're all wondering if how did Chris Carpenter explain this to his son?
