CM Punk; WWE Has Me Hooked Again (2012 Official Pro Wrestling Thread)

BrewCrewForever
Does anyone know any other bars/restaurants in the Milwaukee area that will be showing Summerslam tonight? The only one I know is Romines but it's pretty far from my house and I didn't really enjoy it last time. I live in Waukesha and would really prefer to stay in this area if possible...just don't really know any places to go. Anyone?

watched it at Romines last night, was difficult to hear from where i was. seating was difficult to find when i got there at 615. The thing i never understand is why they allow children in there for PPV's. I am sure they want to sell as much alcohol as possible to make up their large overhead charges to show the PPV.

since everyone knows tonight is Jericho's last raw, kind of disappointed in how obvious they are going to make him leaving WWE. If he looses today his WWE contract is terminated, in which it will be. I am sure the Y2J vs Dolph match will be epic though.

Supposedly it'll be a Lesnar/HHH rematch at Survivor Series, so yeah it'll be kind of lame that he left on the same storyline basically and will come back to face the same opponent. Oh well I guess. It'll be interesting to see when Jericho comes back, and how they do it. Maybe he'll come back sometime next year once Ziggler is established as the WHC and then face him for the title at WrestleMania. That's something I'd like to see. I agree the angle to get rid of him was dumb. I would've rather seen an injury angle or something to set something up for when he returns. Either that or come out with something new. Obviously they weren't just gonna say that he's touring with Fozzy so he's leaving. I think it'll also be interesting to see what they do with the Cena/Punk feud. Will Punk continue to defeat Cena and go on to face Rock at the Rumble, or will Cena get the title, face Rock at the Rumble, and then Punk gets the shot at WrestleMania. We'll see.

It'll definitely be at Survivor Series. There's no way they'll have it at the Rumble when The Rock is already headlining in the WWE Championship match. They'll want a Lesnar/HHH rematch to have top billing. They can do that at Survivor Series. The Rumble is already big with The Rock and the Rumble match itself. They don't need to put all their eggs in one basket.

They don't need to do that match again at all and if they do, do it at the Rumble, Brock breaks his arm again, Taker comes in before Mania after HHH says someone has to save the company.

Survivor Series is a B show. They put Lesnar on one earlier and it didn't move the buyrate. They had Rock at Survivor Series and it did nothing. That match needs to happen on a big show if they do it again.

Not saying I disagree will your logic, I was just trying to explain why they'll do it at Survivor Series. It's pretty predictable honestly. I agree that they don't even need the rematch at all. Taker coming back will definitely happen though. That just seems like the direction they'll go at this point.

I really haven't seen anyone say that it is happening, aside from some of those off the wall rumor sites. Pretty much anyone with credibility (Meltzer) says he will be gone until the Rumble. Lesnar won the HHH feud already - he broke the guys arm twice, broke his best friend's arm, and dominated him in a match where he took his move twice. The only possible thing they could do in another match is have him kick HHH's ass again because he has to be strong for the match with Taker. If they wanted to use Lesnar at Survivor Series, it should be to have him beat Cena.

Why not just have Punk drop the belt to Cena at Night of Champions (hurts to say that), then defend the title against Lesnar at Survivor Series. Leading to Lesnar beating Cena for the belt then, defending it for a couple months til Rumble when Rock beats Lesnar for it. Leading to a huge Rumble match itself with Undertaker, HHH, Punk, Cena, Orton, etc all in the match. You can have your Wrestlemania Matches with Punk winning the Rumble choosing to face The Rock for the WWE Title. Have Cena face whoever the World Champion is, Lesnar take on Undertaker.

So did anybody end up going to RAW yesterday? If so how was the dark match that they were advertising here locally.

I was there. The dark match I assume you're referring to is the one that happened after Raw went off the air. Cena was hanging around. Then the Big Show came out. He stepped in the ring, then stepped out and said we didn't deserve to watch him compete. He walked back up the ramp, Cena chased him and the match was on. It was full of typical Cena/Show match spots. Cena got choke slammed by Show but kicked out. Cena eventually AA'd Show and pinned him. It wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either.

I went to the Smackdown taping in Green Bay on Tuesday. It was Smackdown. I got to see Ziggler in person, so that was cool. He and Orton were pretty much on a completely different level than the rest of the matches as far as how fast they went and how crisp their stuff looked. Sheamus was just as lame in person as he is on TV. I dig Sandow a lot. Pretty much the highlight of the night was seeing an epic Sin Cara botch in a Saturday Morning Slam match with Michael McGillicutty that they taped prior to SD starting. He missed a headscissors by a good two feet and after a couple seconds McGillicutty took the bump anyhow. Sin Cara is bad. Really bad.

I thought the crowd would be far more into Ryback than they were, but it was a pretty weak reaction. The building was probably about 2/3 full, tops. Nearly the whole side of the arena that the hard camera is on was covered up.

As much as people rail on Cole I really like listening to just him solo so far. King is terrible and subtracts from the broadcast.

I'm not a big fan of Cole, but King has gotten so bad that he's really hard to listen to. I'd rather see him get replaced than Cole. I wouldn't mind JBL coming back and taking that spot.

I actually would like to see heel King come back. He was best in that role.

I love heel King, but he'll never come back unfortunately.

Loved the guy dressed as Macho Man sitting ringside. I want him to be at every TV event.

Saw on Youtube the dark match where Cena brought in dressed up Macho Man into the ring and he got a huge ovation. Makes me sad that the real Macho Man never got that last ovation in the WWE.

In other news, Punk got into a car being driven by Heyman to end Raw. I'm incredibly intrigued.

Loved it. We have one of those RAW's next week where you have to watch to see what it was all about.

to say that the story lines have been a little stale of late would be an understatement. The anger management classes have been comedy gold the last 2 weeks though. I think a Punk / Heyman duel changes that. I don't think the WWE realized how tough it would be to make him a heel after raw100.

I read that there was going to be a huge summer storyline like the pipebomb that started this thread or the NEXUS. If it was the heel turn at raw1000, it hasn't gone over at all. I think Heyman will get punk much more heat. He still gets cheered right now after attacking lawler. walking out on his match, and attacking cena. not sure what else they can do.
