wisconsin sports rule:

Gallardo had a success on another message board I belong to, not SCN, but it was signed in pen on a card, and he said it was really bad, so I would save your stamps if I were you...

I think off the top of my head, Dave Bush is the best signer ttm, I'm sure jschris can verify this? But i think he is around 90%

and there have been sporatic successes from Hardy, so I would give it a shot...but it is generally a long wait for him...

I wish I knew that before I sent it June 6th. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Nevertheless, I sent it with a hand written letter, so if that wasn't good enough, then so be it. Any idea how long it took for him to receive it?

I'm glad I got braun right after he was called up, because I probably wouldn't have gotten him at all.

considering that i really don't feel that comfortable bothering players for autographs before or after games (my shyness backfired spectacularly this weekend in regards to asking Lindsay Gulin) I was going to try TTM, but there are only a few players I am interested in--so I'd only be wasting about $1.26 in stamps. Anyone hear of any successes with Seth McClung, Craig Counsell, and Mark DiFelice?

Counsell take about 8 months to reply, McClung is pretty good, and DiFelice is pretty much unknown.

My shyness has severly inhibited my in-person autograph collecting too. The only in-person signature that I have ever received (not that opportunites for others didn't exist; infact, they have been numerous) was Nashville's Callix Crabbe. He was really cool about signing and seemed happy to do it. I feel much more comfortable using the postal service, which I do extensivly.

Most of my attempts have been successful. I've only had five to six fall off the face of the earth in about 55 attempts. Last year I was able to get Parra, Gallardo, and Braun (all shortly after being called up from Nashville). This year I got Branyan and DiFelice (again, just after being called up). Both of the ones from this year got back to me in about two weeks.

that's a great deal for a ball! I'd look into it as far as OML ball.

for the guys that do stuff through the mail, do you do all cards, or have you tried sending balls? I've always considered this option, but with a ball being 12-15 each (depending on how ya get em)...nBo is prolly the best one to ask about this...

and getting uecker through the mail is pretty sweet, considering he wouldn't sign anything other than the 5x7's miller park handed out last brewer's on deck.

Yeah the ball for the Gamel signing is a OML ball. THe $22.50 is only if you are a signingshotline.com member. Otherwise it's $25 I think... yeah I know, big difference. I'd call asap if you're going to do it though. I think the signing is today or something.

I sent some balls last season, but have switched to cards only. My ball successes last year included Braun (while he was still signing, but he didn't put it on the sweet-spot), Parra, Nix, and Zach Jackson. The main reason for switching was the cost of balls and postage/supplies.

I was hoping someone could help me out with the Brewer Block Parties. Are these worth going to? If so, how early do you get there? I see the final parties have Fielder and CC at one park and Braun and Hart at another. I would really like to go get Braun, but am curious if it is worth it. I don't want to wait in line forever and not get anyone. I would appreciate any advice.

I would like to know as well. I'd love to get somebody like CC, but I live 2 hours away... and I don't want to drive that long for nothing.

First thing first is that these scheduled players will absolutely change. That's the earliest I've seen them have the list out and even last time it was out about 48 hours ahead of time and they had guys on the list they had scheduled to be elsewhere. So make sure you check back the night before and even the morning of, as they change without notice.

That being said, for guys like Prince, Braun and CC, I believe people will get there are early as the parks will let them. If they could sleep out, they would.

Last year, Braun's line and JJ's line were down the block when I got there approx. 2 hours before they were scheduled to start. Earlier this season, we got there between 930 and 10 and got Sheets no problem.

I went to two last year and two this year and I've gotten a total of about 15 sigs. I would absolutely suggest going in a group and splitting up amongst the lines if you want to get multiple guys. We usually have one person in one line, one person in another and a runner in between. They allow one thing per person, so all three of you can't get signed. I've taken my mother and she will work as the placeholder.

I've also made friends with the people around me and that allows me to come and go without them trying to push the line. I've had very little to no bad experience with people at the block parties. They're not too obnoxiously territorial. The first time I went, the lady behind us held the spot and I allowed her son to go to our "other" line with me, thereby allowing us to get multiple sigs.

Last year, they had 2 guys per table, which they're not doing this year. One guy per table really cuts down on how many you get.

The last party I was at, the longest line was for Yovani. One of us stood in Branyan's line, the other stood in Kapler's line. As soon as we were done, we went to Villy's line and were able to get that, too.

When a "bigger" name is there, people tend to all get in that line, so all the other guy's lines are much shorter. As people make it through the long line, they start peeling into the shorter lines. So just because one is short when they start signing doesn't mean it will stay that way.

I've never gotten there more than 2-2.5 hours early and we've done pretty well. That being said, they've never had the kind of names in one spot like they do this time.

I hope this helps. Feel free to message me if you have more questions.

When sending a ball do you send two boxes or do you use large padded envelopes?

I send ONE box. I use boxes like these (http://www.officemax.com/omax/catalog/sku.jsp?skuId=21135380&searchString=&productId=ARS22935&category_Id=664), only not that size (pick the smallest size that will hold a ball). Put some double-sided foam tape on the outside of the box such that the player can remove the backing and seal the box back. When YOU close it, just use some packing tape to secure the front flap (so the flap goes over the foam tape). So, instead of tucking-in the flap, leave it on the outside. Include a postage-paid self-addressed label that the player can peel off and cover up the label already on the box.

I hope this makes sense. Let me know if I need to clarify anything.

I use the padded envelopes. I address one to whom I'm sending to and the other with my address on it. I put my baseball, pen and note inside a zip-loc bag. The ones with the white tab to open and close with. I fold the padded envelope in half and add the zip loc bag and send. I put 5 stamps onto the return envelope and take the package to the post office to pay to ship.

Here's 2 different ways to choose from. Pick what you like.
