autographs, signings, and tips, part 3

Although you can't blame him for maybe thinking that, and I apologize if this was anyone here, but when people get an autograph and then are sitting two feet away with Goo Gone taking off the name on their autographed item, it looks like they just want to sell it.

just because we take the personalizations off doesn't mean we are selling it...I took this off right away...and it isn't going anywhere...it just looked dumb with a "To Brian -" on it...I don't really care about personalizations because almost all of them can come off...most I don't mind, but when Prince didn't personalize, and he was on first, I couldn't leave it on...very happy to get the 16x20 done though, well worth the wait

I can say that once this year I was at the parking lot and Braun, when asked to sign, said no as he often does. Someone then asked him why doesn't sign out there much anymore and asked if it's because of sellers, and Braun nodded. Maybe Braun was just looking for an easy excuse, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if he thought some of the people who are there just about every day (who also get his autograph at pretty much every Auto Friday and Block Party when he signs) are in it just to sell the autographs. As Barrelman19 pointed out, if anyone did take their personalizations off within mere feet of Braun where he could see it easily, that isn't going to help his view of things. (I guess it may make him stop personalizing because he might realize there's not much point to it, but it isn't going to make him want to sign more often on his own, that's for sure.) Whether people take the personalization off to sell it or to keep it, it may still just look bad to the player to do it that close to him.

I know there's a fat chance of this, but I thought I'd ask anyways. I really want to get my Felipe Lopez bobblehead signed. And living north of Madison, it's not possible for me to make it to the Parra/Lopez signing next Wednesday. Is there by chance anyone that is going that wouldn't mind getting my bobblehead signed for me? I'd be willing to pay a little if need be. Send me a message if you'd do this for me!

I am going to the signing but have items for both Lopez and Parra to sign already. Sorry Dmiles.

Has anyone been to one of these daytime weekday signings before? I'm just wondering how crowded it might be as well as whether anyone knows if there will be separate lines for the two players or if it's all one line.

BrewCrew - It is actually a 16x20, thanks for the compliment...Dmiles - I might be able to go to that signing, but I'm almost positive that I could get that signed for you before the season ends, it might not be at that signing, but I'm almost sure I could get it signed, if you can't find anyone else, let me know

Anyone go to the Lopez/Parra signing today at Miller Park? I had a friend go for me, but when I asked him how many people and how it was he didn't really describe it. He doesn't go to these things.
Yeah I to am curious as to how it went. I really wish I could have gone, would have been cool to get Parra and really cool to get Lopez. I was at work and there was no way I could have made it down and back during my lunch hour.

Got there at 10:15 and had time to go through the line three times to get some extra items for a friend that couldn't make it. It seemed well-organized, and they didn't allow people to go through the line a second time until around 11:30-11:40.

On a side note, I also was able to go to the players' lot Tuesday afternoon as well as Wednesday afternoon after this signing. Tuesday was especially great, and between the two days I got over half the team. On Tuesday, I got Hoffman, Gallardo, Hart, Bush, Escobar, and Looper. Macha, Narveson, and Villanueva also signed some. On Wednesday, I got McClung, McGehee, Coffey, Stetter, and DiFelice in addition to Parra and Lopez at the signing. Fielder actually parked his car on Wednesday as opposed to getting dropped off like usual, but he wouldn't sign even though only 3 of us were still there (although he did sign for a kid who dropped a couple of cards down to the lower area in a bag).

for autograph friday, you have to get in line about 30 min before they open the gates..so you're first in line..you literally have to run to get in line for players like Hall. they open the gates 1.5 hrs before game time i believe.
Ha... I was just reading back through this thread, and thought this was kind of comical. Those were the good ol' days when you could get 3-4-5 autographs every Friday!

And to comment on Fielder on Friday, I was around 70th in line... and I was through the line in 8 minutes. He was BOOKING!! He had to have gotten through more than 150 in the time he signed.

Wow, you got to go through 3 times? It must not have been to crowded? I probably could have gone on my lunch hour and made it back in time. Darn.

I was about 80 back in line initially, about 40 back when I got back in line at like 11:30, and about 15 back when I got in line my final time at 11:45 or so. Not including people who went through the line multiple times, maybe 150 people total.

  • 2 weeks later...
Anyone have any inside info about the Escobar signings this weekend? I see he is scheduled at Jeff's and Legend's at the same time on the 19th.
Well, he is speedy...http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

(sorry, I couldn't resist. I have no information to answer your question in a non-snarky way.)

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.
