Milwaukee Bucks 2013–2014

1992casey

Its like they are not even trying anymore. New York and Brooklyn both only have 3 wins but it is only a matter of time before those teams turn it on. Even though they may be only 3 games back of the 8 seed there are far more talented teams in front of them.

During this losing streak it seems like they have gotten progressively worse and worse. I want them to be bad this year but I don't want them to be humiliated by 20-30 points every night either. At least put up a fight

Again, this is a team that replaced 11 of 15 players, and two of the four not replaced have missed significant time with injury. Several other projected starters have missed considerable time with injury making it even harder to develop team chemistry. It will take a while for them to learn to play with each other, thus why they look terrible.

You have a point, but of those two who have missed significant time, one also happens to be the player with the biggest contract and the "face of the franchise", who got hurt because he doesn't know how to behave himself off the court. (Not that he really knows how to behave himself on the court either...) The franchise is in disarray.

We need to fire Hammond and get a high pick (at least top 5 if not top 2), so that we can get good for a couple years, sway public opinion enough to build a new arena, and then have Kohl sell the team to someone who will keep them in Milwaukee in the new arena. It's a long shot, but about the only realistic chance the Bucks have of ever being good in Milwaukee again IMO.

No, comments like these is why the GM gets a pass. This is a terrible team no matter which players on the roster play at 100% health, most of the guys individually on the roster would contribute to playoff and even championship level teams but the way it is constructed they can't win and won't win this year. I love that they keep on losing but Hammond needs to take more heat and be gone.

What is Hammond's contract status?

It certainly seems to get a new GM in here before the trading deadline and let them mold the team and make the pick in 2014. I guess I don't have a whole lot of faith in Hammond to make the correct pick in 2014; hopefully it is a no brainer that he can't screw up.

Mr. Kohl gave Hammond a 3 year extension after a 22-18 start last season, so I believe he has 2 more years left. The NBA, where amazing happens!

Did anybody see the link to the new billboard, and fundraiser? It's pretty cool, and already has raised over $2k in less than one day.

Edit: Kelly Dwyer just posted an article about it in his Ball Don't Lie blog on Yahoo.

watch, Bucks will get #1 pick in the draft, take Wiggins, play another year in Milwaukee, and then move to Seattle where the new Sonics will make the NBA Finals.

The first year that Wade, LeBron, and Bosh were together in Miami they started 9-8 through November 27th. In no way, shape, or form am I saying that the 2013-14 Bucks are comparable to the 2010-11 Heat, but it took the Heat a while to learn how to play together just as it will take the Bucks a while.

The Bucks aren't a great team, but they aren't a 2-11 team either. That's why I've been saying I hope they lose enough in Nov and Dec while learning to play together that they can get into the lottery and accumulate as many ping pong balls as possible.

I don't get the point of the billboard. I think the website alone will do more good.

On average, they have been down by 8.6 points at halftime. That's just pathetic. I can only think of 3-4 games where they haven't been down by at least 12-15 points at some point (generally almost right from the gate). They are just really hard to watch, boring as paint drying, even the young guys are kind of blah to me. I've been turning the channel earlier and earlier- feel like a fair weather fan, but just can't find any compelling reason to watch this. How are they going to get anyone to actually show up at the games this winter?

Losing two straight to the Bobcats. This team is B-A-D

No this team is awesome! Awesomely bad! Seriously though wasn't this the wish of some on here for the Bucks to completely tank and go after the draft picks?

I'd argue the wish of some on here (well, myself at least) was for the team to go young, and take flyers on young guys. Instead, our GM completely ineptly tried to navigate to the 8th seed, and now, from the 8th, 10th, and 10th picks from 2008, 2009 and 2011, is now showing up as Brandon Knight and Khris Middleton. Also, he's managed to turn Andrew Bogut into Ekpe Udoh.

That level of ineptitude is amazing. They thought this roster would compete for the 8th seed!!

Yeah sorry, I too wanted the team to go young. I'm ok with them looking bad as long as there are young guys I can look forward to seeing develop. Outside of Giannis we've got nobody like that. As such, our team is just B-A-D. Silver lining is we should get a top 10 pick although I foresee Hammond blowing that if he's given the chance.

They played pretty well tonight... in their own way. I guess that they own the Celtics. I see that the Jazz won tonight as well, so they held serve too. I bet that this won't happen much again this year (Bucks/Jazz winning on the same day).

Ha, I bet the Jazz fans do reverse scoreboard watching

It certainly looks like the Bucks will be drafting in the top 3 this year. Who do you like 1-3?

Based on the games I've watched:

1: Parker

2: Wiggins

3: Smart

Randle looks legit, but I'm not sure the Bucks would go that direction given they just paid Sanders a bunch of cash.

I've read that some people have some concerns about Parker. I think the best bet would be to have a top 2 pick and walk about with Marcus Smart. They have some potential up front and Smart would really upgrade the back court. If they could somehow turn an guy like Ilyasova into a second lottery pick and grab either a SG or a SF like Wayne Seldon or Glenn Robinson III (that'd be pretty cool to get him) they could really start to turn things around.

This year, this draft, you take whomever the best player available is. You don't draft for your current roster. You make your roster fit around anyone who you get.

They should be moving anyone they can for draft picks this year. Ersan, Udoh, Mayo, Butler, Neal, Zaza...

Somehow, I can't help but think that the front office is thinking, "We're only 3 games out of the 8th seed."

Udoh and a playoff appearance. i mean, that playoff appearance was a thrill ride, wasn't it?

"If they could somehow turn an guy like Ilyasova into a second lottery pick.."

asking honestly, is Ilyasova worth that, or is he more like "hooray, we picked up yet another second rounder!" ?
