Meetings. Let's complain about a problem, talk about doing somthing about the problem, and NEVER really follow up.

Then, we'll have to have another meeting to complain about the new problem that arose while we were in a meeting.

Meanwhile, yet another problem will come up while dealing with the new new problem--oh my God make it stop!

Can someone explain why people have so much trouble merging during freeway construction?

Driving down the Beltline, and there are signs at least a mile before the road work warning that the right lane is closed. Yet I constantly see people sit in the right lane until the very last possible moment, when the cones start to narrow the road, before getting over.

What could you possibly have to gain? Other than making people have to slow down and let you in? Just merge to the left lane immediately, morons!

Time to add to the coworker saga.................

We are working together right now as we speak. I am at the front desk as I am supposed to be, she is in the back office, chatting away on the phone. She was listening to music pretty loudly just a few minutes ago. I can hear her phone conversation at the desk, which means guests could hear her too (but there are no guests tonight........hardly any that is...4 more scheduled arrivals). Right after my boss left, she went to the back office and was there for well over an hour before she peaked up to the front. She is scheduled to work until 10 and I just told her she can leave early. She doesn't want to leave though because she want the hours. I'm thinking I am going to have a conversation with my boss tomorrow afternoon when I arrive....no e-mails this time...face-to-face conversation.

Well, remember, NMF, don't make it about you having to pick up her slack. Take the approach of how it makes the front desk operation look to guests. That emphasizes that you and the supervisor are on the same page. Good luck.

Sorry, I guess this post isn't about what's bugging me. I hope it does not bug anyone too much.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I completely agree with you on this. On a night like tonight, we don't have to have two people working, so I'm really not picking up any slack at all. I mean, I'm sitting here obsessively clicking the refresh button to see all the new posts on BF.net tonight. The difference, though, is what I'm doing won't bother guests or give them a bad impression.

I'm going to admit, though, that when she leaves at 10, I will probably go sit down in the back office and rest my feet and back for a few minutes. But, we have monitors to look at so I will know when someone is at the front desk. If I got really busy right now, she would have no clue because she never pays attention to the monitors (or anything for that matter except her phone, laptop (which she is using now) and MySpace). Not only do I pay attention to the desk when I'm in back, my activities in the back will not leave a bad impression on the guest.

DHonks, mildly to the common man, to me, no...I can't stand immaturity (and I'm getting married in a month, so my official answer should probably be no). I do get paid more than her though, which is nice.

Official threads. It seems like we are having a lot of "the official (Steroids, Ryan Braun, Yo, etc) thread"

I don't mind those so much as something I see on other boards I post at- the old

"_______ Appreciation Thread." It's like "I have nothing to say so at the moment so I'm going to start an "Appreciation Thread." And everybody else can pat this person or thing on the back. Especially lame and nauseating is if the person being appreciated is a fellow poster. Like "DingleBerry76 Appreciation Thread."

I don't think I've seen it here. But if I have, I'm not referring to yours. Ha.

Phony baloney store clerks who smile so big and scream "Did you find everything you were looking for?"

Well, let's see, I got the fabric softener and the spaghetti sauce my wife likes...but I'm still searching for the meaning of life. Which aisle might that be in?

Qdoba: Every time I receive a burrito from you I immediately regret the purchase. Why are your tortillas so thin and flimsy?

Horoscopes: Why do people let someone/a machine/the internets decide whether or not they will have a good day today?

My three-week investment theory course: Thoughts of bonds are causing my head explode, and I'm not even talking about HGH.

This woot-off. I've seen nothing that is halfway decent. And the bad items are taking forever.

And Woot must make a decent amount of money off those Roomba's. They seem to have them up all the time

Rain on Thursdays. Why is an hour of rain in the mid-afternoon cause to rain out both of my leagues tonight? I drove by the field at 6pm and the field was in great shape. It can rain any other night of the week, why Thursday night? Why?
